Selling price of Kaazar Class (w/ upgrades): $42,679 Trade-in value of same ship: $106,450
So I can trade in the ship for a Cadar Shuttle ($56,982) and walk away with not only a new ship, but almost 16% more credits than if I just sold it ($49,468 - $42,679 = $6,789)?
While it makes sense that trade-in values are higher than outright sales, this is ridiculous.

I don't exactly follow what you're describing here. Everything is so specific to Skills and Difficulties, Port Ratings, etc. Millions of permutations.
I'll look into it but I still might not be able to fix your character.

By trading in a ship instead of selling it from dry dock it's possible to end up with more credits in hand, besides acquiring a new ship in the process. To put it another way, why sell a ship at dry dock when you can "sell" it at the new ship lot it for more credits and get a new ship thrown in for free?

As kind of an add-on to the bug. One of the classes (merchant?), has a discount for buying ships. In the past, I noticed that the discount is shown in terms of how much it will cost, but then cannot buy the ship anyway saying I have too little money when I actually try.

ST-351 That would have been a good one to post under "Bug Reports" in a new thread.

From my testing this seems to only be possible under certain economic and rumor conditions. I have not been able to reliably replicate it in a consistent fashion.
