I finally attracted a nice jango class to attack me, and beat them down with as minimal damage to engines. Transferred my best cargo over to the ship in preparation to take it. I noticed that the cargo was over the limit, so (I think I must have) used back by mistake instead of hitting cargo again. Anyhow I lost the ship and all my good cargo of course I think I hit the button. But I have an option selected to confirm depart from combat. Or is this not the way it works? I have had a message before about things like this. Also I have the scroll options not selected to disable scrolling, but sometimes the scrolling does not seem to work. I wondered if there was something not working with the options selection? Also it is a bit confusing that some of the options are to enable something, and some to disable it. Would it not be clearer to have them all enabling their option, so a quick check of green ticks shows everything up? Just my idea, it is not a biggie if it makes problems or you don't want to change it at this later stage. Wondering if I sit here and patrol for all night maybe the Jango will come back to me with my weapons and electronics... oh and my fuel!

I've hit done rather than take ship several times under the same sort of circumstances. I find myself talking to my phone "Don't hit done... Don't hit done..." I can't even begin to imagine what my wife thinks I'm doing.

Ok so I carried on after this and went into the confirm options that did not seem to be working and toggled them off then on again. Now I see a white confirmation window after each combat. But now the confirmation window is confused, even if I am not taking the enemy ship the window always says "any C(?)argo not transferred to the <name of ship I defeated> will be forever lost" It is only the notification that is wrong, I still keep my ship (thank goodness)
Other option switches I had problems with were the double tap to navigate, and the scrolling options.
I am pretty certain this is a bug now.

I am so totally confused by this thread!
Does anyone have details or any explanations?

Sorry for the confusion, I will try and clarify my posts
1. my first report was that somehow, after transferring cargo to a ship that I wanted to take, I was taken out of the combat before I could take the ship, with no warning pop up, although I had that option selected. I had transferred more cargo to the defeated ship than it could hold, and I think I pressed my phones back button (I was tired) 1 or 2 times. 1a. I now notice that every time I exit combat I get the white warning window, but it always says " Any cargo not transferred to ship X will be forever lost" when X is the ship I have defeated, although I have not taken this ship but am leaving in my own ship. (there was an error in capital C for cargo"
2. After my initial post I went to into the options screen to confirm I had the option selected for confirmation before leaving combat, as I was not sure if it was selected. I noticed that it was selected, and also some other options that did not seem to be working, like double tap to navigate, and scrolling. I went and toggled all of these option flag boxes twice to reset them off then on. After this I now get the confirm boxes leaving combat, and the double tap to navigate and scroll is working (better). So I think that somehow my options selections for these options had somehow got lost or corrupted.
3. When I was checking the options, I found it quite confusing as some of the check boxes were on to enable, and some were on to disable. I was wondering if it would be an improvement to standardise this so every green tick meant an option was on. Not a big deal though.
I hope this helps. Sorry I only have time to play at the moment when I am about to fall asleep!

#1. I will check on the function of the back button. I'm not sure what the "white warning window" is honestly. I will check but I have tested this over thousands of games. By practice I never play with the same set of options, so I'm constantly readjusting to different configurations. If you post more details I can keep trying.
#2. We are just using a PreferencesActivity in Android, so if there are any lost/corrupted settings I really cannot fix them -- the entire thing has been handed off to the OS.
#3. I can see what you mean about the variety of options. The design is such that the "default" state when the game is installed is that all the options are off. They all represent some deviation from the default, but some are enable or disable. I considered restating them all as disable or enable however in some options it is simply not very intuitive (or rather, less so than the current situation.)

The 'white warning window' was the notification that comes up when you leave combat if you have that option enabled. Now every time I exit combat I get this notification that suggests any cargo not transferred to the defeated ship will be lost forever. Somehow that text is now defaulting to thinking I have taken the new ship when I am keeping my original ship. Maybe related to the original time I tried to take the ship and it failed.
I had not changed a lot of those settings much since I started, so it could be that the settings got corrupted in the OS.
It is not a big problem for me now, I just posted the info to let you know there seemed to be a problem. It might be a unique combination of events that no one else will ever see!

Issues I reported previously.
1. I had various options selected in the game such as display a warning when leaving combat. I eventually realised these had stopped working in game. Although the option to display a warning departing combat was selected, I was not getting a warning. (As reported original post). I went and re entered all my options and they were working again.
2. Now I get the depart combat warning message leaving after every single encounter it tells me I will loose any cargo not transferred to the enemy ship. This happens although I am departing in my own ship
3. When I imported this captian into Elite, I still saw these incorrect depart messages. I also started seeing it in new captains I created in Elite.
3. (From email I sent you a while back) I sometimes see -1 upgrades available in a star-port after buying asingle upgrade under the star port rumor that makes most upgrades available at the starport.
I had thought your last response had indicated there was a problem with my game settings or data being corrupted, but from what you said in another post this was not the case, which would then seem to indicate these are bugs?

1. I would seek warranty repairs or software upgrades for your phone, perhaps, if you are loosing / corrupting OS device data. I had this happen with an old Motodroid a few months before the internal storage completely folded and stopped working.
2. If you enable "Confirm Victory Depart" you will see a warning about cargo transfers. It seems that the wording of this message is bothering you. I will change it to say "Are you sure you want to leave? No undo is permitted." which should resolve the confusion!
3. Yes because those messages are probably enabled in your Options. If you do not want to see them you should be able to turn them off.
3a. -1 display on upgrades is a result of "main resource under supply" which can be resolved by adding resources to the exchange. I will be addressing this issue in some future release where the -1 will be replaced with a more meaningful value but at this time that will take a major restructuring of the resource results / upgrade matrix generator. days / weeks of work to remove a -1 so I might just hack the UI to grey the button if a -1 is likely.

Thanks I understood the -1 upgrade thing from another forum post, it is now helpful.
I think it would be less confusing to update the "Confirm victory depart", to refer to the ship you depart in. Currently seeing "Any cargo not transferred to the Lance class will be lost forever" is a bit unsettling when I am sitting at the helm of TheDoctorsDen having just fired one too many gun blasts and turned the Lance class into vacuum cheese. It bothers me more if I have boarded the ship and am thinking... did I push the wrong button and take their ship by mistake?
To remove the ship name as you suggest would be one way, but given situations where you might be leaving on the enemy ship, when the cargo transfer was confusing people, I would prefer the message to include the name of the ship you are actually departing in.
