Anyone else planning on watching the new SyFy miniseries Ascension? Sounds like it might be pretty good. www.syfy.com/ascension

I would love to figure out how to stream it in HD. My satelite TV is in low-def.
P.S. good point about recording it. I may need to do that.

Hadn't heard of it until this thread. It looks interesting. I hope it will be available on hulu or amazon

I'm in the same boat as CdrPlatypus, just DVR'd the first episode and watched it. Like the premise, characters seem somewhat bland, but there's enough going on for me to watch the rest of it.

I agree with bowuserthing, the premise of a small group (600) of people half-way through a multi-generational space flight (100 years) is intriguing. Character development is o.k., but none of the characters have grabbed and made me feel invested. The plot is good, with an interesting twist. Overall, good enough for me to want to watch the second episode. I've heard Ascension billed as SyFy's return to hardcore scifi like Battlestar Galactica. There's some truth to that, but this show does not appear to be as good as Battlestar, which is one of the best scifi TV series of all time. We'll see where it goes.
