Shhhhhhhhhh ... I'm not really here. I haven't been playing in the tutorial and actually learning just how fricken cool CK is via the MnB tutorial. It's a magical revisitation to this game that I have sorely neglected for too long. It went from a sandbox game with, what seemed random goals, experiences, and (hey, that sounds a bit like some people's first experiences with ST ...) to a game that smacks me square between the eyes with an amazingly crafted narrative, guiding you in pretty much the perfect way. It reminds me a ton of the indy game Gunpoint, which is pretty amazing as well. The thing that I realize is that with gunpoint, the main story is finished in a few hours of dedicated game play - whereas that is pretty much just the tutorial for CK - there are many many months worth of addiction to be had here. Scary if you think about all the people playing TB games and juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust how many person-years have been absorbed killing xenos, pirates, Steel Song, Ratkin, Steel Song ...
ANYWAY there IS a point to this post. Honest. As I am as green to CK as a very green thing, I have no idea what I am doing, and am heavily reliant on the hints and tips and guidance I am getting from the people I speak to. I am not too far into the game at present - I've gotten to the point I am patched up for the first time, and have had a night of rest. I spoke with Max and he told me something. I'm sure he did. However, I'm not exactly sure WHAT he told me. You see, half-way through the conversation, I was called away to do something stupid (like doing real life stuff), and when I next got back to the game, it had reverted to the title screen. I jumped back into the game, and found that the dialog had passed, and I had no idea what I needed to do next.
This isn't the first time this happened to me ... in fact, the first time I experienced it was when I first left the underground. I was having the monolog with myself and had to run off. I didn't explain to myself what I needed to do - I think it ended up just being the data terminal.
There is nothing in my PDA or notebook that says "I need to get to a blurk, and contact gleep". It could be as simple as adding a dialog thingy into the notebook with a timestamp. That way I know what I should be doing next and not accidentally walk into somewhere I shouldn't
