okay okay .. I'm at a cross-roads. I am not sure now if I want to buy a Note 4 (bigger screen, better for gaming, all sorts of cool stuff) ... OR get a S6 (newer, glass, shiny).
Both have same resolution, I don't really take photos with the phone (I have a real DSLR for that) and I want a phone I can play games and watch the occasional video on.
I don't care too much about the stylus - and am slightly drawn on the fingerprint scanner improvements of the S6, but really that's not important in the grand scheme of things.
The Note 4 is about 20% cheaper than the S6, but isn't shiny new and shiny. Cats like shiny.

I voted S6 because that is what I would buy for my own use faced with this choice.

I voted HTC because Samsung is (as Apple btw) just showing off. Don't get me wrong : their phones are good ones, but not as amazingly awesome as they pretend they are. (and far too expensive here in France). So I stick with HTC since they also do good phones...

I thought about waiting for the Note 5 but I am soooooooooooo impulsive. Do you know how hard it is to wait for something when every fiber of your body is screaming at you to GO ... BUY ... SOMETHING

Thanks for your thoughts and votes. There doesn't seem to be any clear consensus as to what direction I should take - which is probably about right, because let's face it, the Note 4, S6, HTC, and even LG have decent phones. In fact, so long as I don't buy Apple, I am generally really going to be happy.
As such, I think I'm leaning towards the Note 4 just because it has a bigger screen to which I can play all my TB games at high resolution. I can't imagine just how awesome BF or ST2 will be on the new device.

I'd go for the cheap option and use what you save on some good catnip it would be like having a 3D screen

I ended up going for the Note 4 because I can add a memory card in there, and it's a bigger screen for more game coolness. I will be able to use the Stylus when I need to worry about "fat-fingeritis", and finally, because the Note 4 had a $260 saving on the S6, which means I can put that savings towards maybe a new tablet

Doh! The Note is a wonderful device, I used the original for 2 years. I would have recommended and LG G4, because I love my G3 so much. You can't really go too wrong with Samsung, though.

I love my HTC one... I would never dream about buying an Apple...
HTC also has some of the best cameras found on a mobile device, and many come with Beats Audio, which means the sound quality on EVERYTHING you listen to is amazing.

I have an s5 and I'm really happy with it. I thought about a note 4, but it just felt to big to hold in my hand and use as a phone.

We played with them. HTC was the big fun winner.

My girlfriend is the tech guru. I admit I feel like a caveman concerning the ever expanding tech base. I just can't keep up. I have an LG E980, and currently upgrading to a LG G4. She says its a ton better than the old one. Im from the school of if it ain't broke don't fix it., but she is a dealer and knows her stuff and likes to do things for me. Anyone have experience with or know anything about the G4 with regard to gaming?

I don't know. My friend has bought pretty much all of the latest/greatest phones in recent times. He loves watching videos and playing games on them. I think he liked the G4, but his current phone is an 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab S. Yes, I told him he looked ridiculous when he holds the tablet to his ear, but he says that gaming is soooo good. That doesn't necessarily answer your question - I'll ask him more about it today and see what he says. (the G4 that is, not the Phablet)
