I was flying from Tucanae-Javat Mining and headed to Ogvidisso-B on a mission of vital importance. It was 22AU away, and I had 32 weeks to complete the contract. No sweat I thought. I'll just slap the ship into auto-pilot and we'll get there with plenty of time to spare. Alas, Auto-pilot was going for the most fuel-efficient path, and made me late by almost a month. My employer wasn't impressed! So - enhancement request: Offer two options for auto-pilot 1) Fuel-efficient path. That's the current implementation of auto pilot. That means focus on green squares, skirt around planets where possible. 2) Time-efficient (direct) path. Gets you to your destination in the quickest time a 3rd option ... Friendly-territory path. Gets you to your destination by navigating through factions that have a positive reputation with you. 4) ... and I'm just going silly here, because I really just want #2 implemented .... but we're going the whole hog here ... 4. 4 is deep stealth mode. You take twice as long to get from A to B, but you get 50% less encounters

#3 and #4 are low priority feature requests for ST2 - possibly made available by a ship upgrade, or a particularly smart tech officer ... For #2, I was thinking it would be relatively easy to implement because you already have the arrow pointing to the destination - you just need to make autopilot follow that arrow. If it is a trivial change, then I'd like it in ST1 - but otherwise I can wait.
