Despite the distractions of a real life, I have just completed Ironman. Whee. Did you get the achievement?

Unfortunately, that flammable Pitch ended my first Iron man run. I'm gonna try again tho. Vae Victus!

Another Ironman tip ... don't be afraid of casualties. Heh, I'm getting further not playing Hardcore Ironman ("Today, nobody dies."). It is fun, but a lot trickier. I decided to drops the Hardcore when I squished a Soldier in an airlock while stuck doing OW... . The Scout made a suicide run to close the last gate and the second Soldier was in single digits providing cover when the Cpt (with about 40ish HP himself) stumbled into the orange. That sacrifice needless to be honored. OTOH, I'm just through Tundeer and looking at Cpt & Soldier @9, Engineer & Neptune @7, Paladin, Scout & Soldier 6, and a flock of 5th level understudy dudes, casualties are not to be courted. Especially when the 9th Soldier & 7th Neptune can usually kill with OW, hit the 6th Soldier maybe does & maybe doesn't, I'd hate to see heavy damage among my big guys since we don't have but hunt grind levels.

Another Ironman tip ... don't be afraid of casualties. Sorry dude but I'm going for Hardcore Ironman, no deaths allowed. Someone dies, restart. I intend to beat it once with no one dying. I'll then send a copy of that save file to you for storage in the Hall of Records. On the Replay, I won't mind maybe if someone dies.

Suppressing Fire by Neptunes has been really great on keeping the Xenos away.
Many times, I won't use Overwatch on Neptunes to save heat :-(

Auto-block (with focus maxed for melee templars), fortitude, buffs and +hp>deflection>armor gear were the key for me to achieve your goal, ntsheep. Next time i'll replace berzerker with hydra to get more deflection. Sometimes i had to use double heat-sink setup, as overheat = no buffs -> no speed, damage and defense.

jknut I actually prefer -mp gear for most missions because it allows me to continue cooling while over watching

This is going to seem like a stupid question, I'm sure, but why would -mp gear allow for better cooling? Is it just always coupled with +heat?
Are you guys going to blow my mind? I've just been pumping up willpower on all of my Templars and eating the ~-10hp a turn, haha.

As of two updates ago, -MP armor and buffs both cause your Templar to burn heat as if those MP existed but were not used.
