Okay, I know the Brothers have various Android and Kindle tablets and do coding for them and I need an expert opinion. Amazon recently upgraded the Kindle Fire to OS version 5.0 and changed the Fire into an Android clone interface with marketing crap spammed all over it. This truly pisses me off for a variety of reasons, but that isn't important.
I'm sure that you two have seen the new Fire OS and its interface, so my question would be: How hard would it be to include an option for the user to use the real Fire interface instead of being forced into the new pseudo-Android interface, similar to Windows allowing users to revert to a "Classic" interface when they upgrade their OS? In your opinion, would it actually be that difficult in coding or resource intensive for the device to include this option?
One of the major reasons I don't take the easy way out....the TB games, because to revert the OS update means resetting the device and losing everything I've done on TBf and HoS (yet again for this one). I really enjoy playing, but having to start all over again from the bottom is annoying.

algesan - I'd say I have not idea how much work a classic mode would be. Amazon, of course, has a vested interest in "going forward" so they aren't likely to be offering it themselves. Any chance that the Carbon / Helium app works with the new Fire OS? Both OS and app are getting updates regularly, so maybe its working now? www.tresebrothers.com/transfer-saved-games-between-devices/Alternatively, we are hard at work on a Cloud Save option that would integrate with DropBox for game saving on-and-across any platforms or devices. The engineering lifting on that one is pretty heavy, but we're putting the time in. Absolutely no clue on even a rough ETA.

It wasn't meant to be a prod at you guys, you're maintaining multiple games across several OSes and platforms, it is the job of the platforms to make things like saving status to a "cloud" easier since it makes them more attractive to developers. Worse comes to worse, I'll be buying at least some of your games from GooglePlay because I'll be buying a serious Android tablet if I have to deal with Android's interface. It isn't just your games that I'll lose access too. Amazon may want to "go forward" and I'll admit that having an actual Android interface may actually increase their market share in tablets, but if I wanted an Android interface, I'd have bought an Android in the first place, I much prefer the cleaner interface of the Fire. Amazon has free apps for Android (and IoS) to let you access their book & instant video content on those platforms. I was hoping for some idea of how technically doable a "classic" version alternate interface would be for the next time I call Amazon CS so I can get escalated again and cite "a professional developer", because I bought and paid for a Kindle Fire, so I want a Kindle Fire, not some Android crap they installed overnight.

algesan - sorry I can't help much with an idea there, but I am pretty sure you won't find them interested in any way in going backwards. HTC is wanting to push Android 6 Marshmellow to my phone, and while I might be able to avoid it for a little while, I will eventually cave. It is sure to be the starting OS on my next device as well. It is nice of the different markets to provide "cloud" solutions but they all do it differently, and they are all provide very simple services that don't work for the type of saved game formats that we've created. So, we have to find our own route.
