Somewhat unrelated, but I appear to have the entire Haek family onboard my Dragoon Cruiser (5 of them!) I also found some names I put into the generator, so that was really cool Glad you've found some of your names! Awesome. All Factions have common names. The big families from before the Exodus that were scattered to the scars and grew. Those names became very common, so I'd be willing to bet my left arm that those are all 5 Alta Mesa clan members Will the identities of these famous families be detailed in the lore doc?

Brutus Aurelius - depends. There are 9-11 common names for every Faction, clearly can't highlight them all

Have a smuggler contact named Jigsaw Longfoot living on Big Box in the Noodle Whiff quadrant.
Willing to give the personal names like Jigsaw and Jolly a pass as being nicknames, but Noodle Whiff is definitely an immersion breaker lol.

What is it about a name the makes it an immersion breaker. I'm being mostly serious here. Is there some sort of guideline. Perhaps the founders of the quadrant, planet, settlement had senses of humor. That may have been all they had left.

A sense of humor is one thing but certain things go beyond a simple joke by some original settler. Mostly its stuff thats so out of context with the rest of the TB universe or else is just plain absurd. Naming an entire Quadrant Noodle Whiff to me comes under the absurd category, calling some zone or planet The Last Noodle or Out of Gas on the other hand might be a show of grim humor by the original founders.

Completed agreed with xdesperado here -- the decision is a case-by-case basis on how well it fits within the context of the rest of our 5 games in the Star Traders universe. Secondary consideration, copyright.

I think "Big Box" is a actually a great name for an urban zone. It makes me think the whole city is like one super giant apartment building.

Likely to be immersion breaking in any event but just my opinion Besides do you really want to do business with some homeless Prince or shady "Smuggler" operating out of a Big Box?

"Big box stores" Anyway, we'll just keep improving the lists. We appreciate people reporting things they find odd or immersion breaking, and Cory Trese and I will make the final call.

I understand the need for changes. I'm loving the sense of humor my fellow TB gamers have. I'm sure some of it was never meant to be this way when you look at the names by themselves. It's when they get put together that you really get a laugh. You guys really don't want to know what lab sheep 3 thought when he read Big Box and Noodle Whiff This is the sheep that want to go to Tittybong Australia after all, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tittybong,_Victoria
