K. I'm ready to upgrade my ship. I want to add a passenger cabin. I have the required mass allowance. But when click on the cabin because I want to add it, I am instead asked about which component I want to replace. Is it possible to add a component without replacing something?

I think all starter ships come with all small/med/large slots fully occupied. You will have to replace something.

That's a bit disappointing.

There is no empty space on a working ship. You cannot remove a component either. You must replace.
Sorry that is disappointing.

Don't provide any soaks or give any buffs for combat/movement/fuel consumption etc. all they do is fill up a given slot on a ship for a minimal cost. Planned on replacing that autocannon at some point anyways, don't have the credits to repair it currently but I can stick a Structural Integrity Module in there for $50, $100 whatever for time being instead of running about with the blasted remains of that gun that is nothing but an eyesore and hazard to my crew.

Armored Bulkheads, I believe.

I propose, instead of Structural Integrity Modules, some Structurally Questionable Airlock Modules. It would only cost half as much, but provide much needed "relief" for the Captain.

Maybe some very cheap, but very bad, storage space.

Don't upgrade your ship until the next release. There is a bug which makes the components revert to their original -- i.e. what you replaced them with -- when they get damaged and you fix them at the shipyard. I think this bug bites everybody but I am 100% certain that it bites you on android.

That's interesting grävling . I've been playing on both my win10 box and the android. I hadn't noticed that on either of them. I'll check the desktop later. Has either fallen or Cory Trese said anything about add Vs replace? Is that for another alpha phase?
