Just got a Pardon from a Prince. The text said something like "Pay 0 to mitigate -6 Reputation?" The Log Entry shows correct amount deducted ($36), so the prompt was wrong.

Odd. Will try to reproduce. Seems to work here with low values.

Happened again. Maybe it has to do with specific -Rep values?? Values affected: -4, -6 Values not affected: -2, -8 The prompts during these two times were fine: In case it matters, JJ Frostbane is a Clan Moklumnue Prince.

More likely related to specific traits of your Contact. Contacts who are traitorous are willing to pardon more and pardon cheaper. Turns out that was causing 0 sometimes.
Believe I fixed it.

Oh, I didn't realize there are nuances to that. I assumed it was just Cost = (-Rep)²
So is there a threshold where Contacts no longer have sufficient influence to Pardon? Would they do a partial Pardon (e.g. raise you from -100 up to -50 Rep), or just simply "There is nothing I can do for you."?

At this time, no I think the limits are just Traits and Contact type. But I love the idea of tying it to influence.

If they have sufficient influence (4+), they can Pardon up to your Rep * Rep. Which means they can partially pardon, yes.

Are you referring to Contact Rep? Adjusted Rep? Is it possible to have a positive Contact Rep when Faction Rep is negative?? e.g. Contact Rep is 50 (from previous dealings, or through a linked Contact) Faction Rep is -130 (due to Trade Embargo violations) Adjusted Rep = -15 (not sure what the correct formula is) How much can be Pardoned here, if any?

Sorry, typo.
Pardon up to Contact Rep. Unadjusted by Faction Rep.
Cost is (Contact Rep * Contact Rep)
We'll keep working to improve.

Okay, I think I understand now.
Oh, so in the screenshots above, if not for the Traitorous Contact Trait, normally I shouldn't have been able to get Pardon from them at all, because the Contact Rep is below zero?

Same thing happened to me. I take it you don't need any more screenshots? 'cause I made them, forgetting that this had been already reported.
