I don't understand this. How did you make money here? In the second screenshot s/Credts/Credits/ and I thought you mispelled 'naval' as 'naual' but no, it's just that ugly font you are using. Any hope of making the 'u' and 'v' more distinct?

Credit Skim and Credit Score are both "You get Credits" cards. You just get money.
The potential earnings are driven by the Econ of the planet.

Oh, I had assumed it was just on my device... yes, the 'u' and 'v' problem is rather annoying.

I eavesdrop on your commercial communications, and -- well, I might know what stock to buy or short, assuming they have a stock market and your stock is listed, but otherwise, what connection is there between eavesdropping and cash in the bank?

I'm not going to pretend to be a techno-buff on digital currency, but Credits can be exchanged through communication devices. See Bribing another ship in the Preamble. Your Spy intercepts one such transaction, cracks their crypto and steals the credits.

You intercept a transaction command, transferring XX credits "from Account A to Account B". You change it to "Account A to your own account". Bingo.

Okay, so you aren't just listening in on the communication, you are actively involved in industrial espionage. Does this make you a crook, or is this something that Faction Military Intelligence do to each other all the time as a matter of course?

That is up to your intention. Are Faction Intelligence (Spies) crooks? You steal data and sell it to people. Are you a crook? You steal money. Are you a crook? You are the Captain -- you decide EDIT: Notably, like stealing data, you do this without being caught. Therefore, no Rep loss.

I want to know what my superiors in the Moklumne Military think of this, or would think of this if they ever found out about the Credit Skimming. "Great Job! We Love it when enterprising young officers come up with new and creative ways to finance their operations! Well done!" or "Court Martial for Graft + Conduct Unbecoming".

If you are a loyal spy to Mok, then you are just doing your job. Unless your stealing from Mok, that is

grävling real life banks have been making huge piles of money quasi legally for years and some "crooks" have taken advantage of digital transactions to skim from that same source of revenue. Problem is with rounding factors and exchanges of various currencies as two notable examples. A single individuals transaction may have a few percentage points of say a US cent that get rounded off as far as they are concerned when a transaction is made or interest figured. The loss to an individual is neglegable but when you add up all those rounded fractions from millions of transactions they suddenly start adding up to significant amounts. The banking industry and large corporations tend to be protected by laws that say they only have to figure individuals accounts to a certain decimal place for rounding yet in the world of virtual currency it is usually figured much further and they have the means to assemble all those left over fractions. Certain "criminals" have taken advantage of those same practices to syphon the left over bits into their private accounts, of course the banks/corporations when they catch on to such activity cry foul and that they are being robbed by virtual thieves.

This I know, since all of the legers we have to keep for our accounting and bookkeeping systems do indeed keep financial accounts with that much accuracy. I am just very, very surprised that in the future time of ST2 we still haven't got secure funds transfer working yet.
