My here's are struggling with the trolls and other monsters in Brellim Pass. Are other areas a bit easier with less powerful monsters in this part of Ep 2? The mods place, whatever it's called, maybe? Or should I just look for fights until my heroes level up/ her better gear? They are level 17 with armors above 25 iirc. I have Vraes as tank, kyera as off-tank, Kjartan tossing curses and Tamilin doing damage with her bow/ scouting ahead/ opening stuff. Myers is also healing. They are just taking waay too much damage, especially the tanks. Help?

starlord61 - the Episode 2 monsters are definitely harder. You'll find similar challenges in Darkmoss, but you might find Trolls especially hard because they are regenerating and hard to hit through their thick skin. One suggestion -- go back to Riven Field and visit the smith. There is a whole new crop of weapons and armor for sale there. Make sure to upgrade your damage dealers to the best possible weapons. Craft on them if you have the bloodstones. Another question -- what attack Talents are you using? What is Vraes hitting with and what is Tamilin using? You're almost to level 18 where some amazing ones will open up, but you need to make sure you're not just using the basic attacks or something.

Here's some of my hero stats on attacking.
Vraes crushing blow 4
Captain Lukais Blade 2H
Tamilin Aimed Shot 5
Recurved Bow 16-40 lo 4% critical
Kyera Smiting Blow 3
Chaplains Heavy Mace 1H 29-42 +12 holy dmg
Kjartan casts Choking Ash 2, Immolation 2, Meteoric Shockwave 2 on enemies. Plus the odd fireball or two.
I'll look in the shop for better weapons/ armor. But my current ones have good extras like 4% critical. I haven't tried crafting yet.

You don't have group acc buffs with this team makeup, so stacking cursing with good acc equipment and empowered attacks is the way to go. CB is not a strong acc talent so consider adding nm for acc, str based dmg and melee defense. CB and NM are hand in glove combo imo. CA is going to be your main acc boost potentially for CB and smiting blow, cursing both dodge and parry, so consider rasing it further. EA and ToS are your dodge and ap combo curses, I'd get one up high, the other moderate, a little at a time depending on difficulty and sp. These will help acc and reduce enemy attacks/actions. You may use SS instead of ToS to stack or supplement MS/CA if you go strong on EA/MS/CA. Curses and group buffs tend to have the most outsized benefits, stealth acts like a group buff on initiative as does scouting (far sight/spirit sight) if used well for positioning. Vraes is king of tough target kills. Crafting usually results in somewhat better stats than the same item from a chest. |

starlord61 - if you are struggling to kill Trolls, the first concern I have is about the weapons you are wielding. You have the two gifts given to you as the victory loot for the end of Episode 1 Act 1 (Great Shaman). You're 8 levels later, multiple weapon shops, some major bosses ... I would highly suggest buying or crafting something superior.

What is SS? Savage sweep or silent stalker? stalker, I abbr. sweep ssw. Remember acc on the weapon used and empowered attacks are strong dice, 3 strong dice are about equal to 5 standard dice on average. Weapon acc is hugely important, particularly when cursing dodge/parry is not maxed. Crit won't do you any good if you miss... With crafting though you can get both good acc and crit, and other bonuses on the weapons too. |
