Not that the other thread like this worked great, but fallen started an article on conflicts for the wiki but it needs filled in and I figure the devs have more important things to be working on. So any info, corrections or clarifications you have would be very helpful. This is what I think I know so far. Conflicts last for an indeterminate amount of time. Conflicts have a score which determines what happens when they end. This score can be influenced by taking missions that concern this conflict. Winning faction contacts may gain influence. Losing faction contacts may lose influence. Some factions may lead to contact deaths. Such as Duels of Assassins and Alliances still benefit both factions even though one may technically be the "winner?" Certain factions are more prone to certain types of conflicts. Such as Spying, Blockading or Patrolling over a zone that is involved in a conflict will make it possible to draw a "Participate in a Conflict" card, which will swing the conflict score for or against the zone faction and give rep with the corresponding faction. Conflicts can effect a ship's hostility towards a captain during an encounter. Such as Conflicts may have other effects, like I think Spy Wars increase the price of records or the rep gained for selling them. I don't know if they affect the results of what you may do during an encounter in deep space. Like if I destroy the ship of faction who is in a solar war do I get rep with them. Let me know anything else you might have figured out.

Certain factions are prone to certain conflicts... Yeah I believe that's the case.
Cory said something similar, I believe, on the discord somewhere.
Steel Song and Cadar are prone to being in hostile conflicts, if I remember right.
He also said that Faction personalities are reflected in game.
If that's the case, then Zenrin aren't likely to get into alliances, and factions are more likely to get into trade alliances with Javat.
Confirmation needed.
