Actually I just picked him up with a level 2 edict. I think it said I needed only a level 1 edict. Yes, the requirement is Level 1 Edict for the first mission?

If you are saying what I think you are saying — that the Edict is required here because it is proof of (Steel Song) faction loyalty — then I still don't think this requirement makes sense. If I have enough rep with the Warden for her to trust me, and I buy Edicts from her, how does that prove I am more trustworthy for the mission? If she already knows I am competent and loyal enough to deserve a level 3 Edict, then she wouldn't need to see my Edict as proof of competence or loyalty. Sorry it doesn't make sense to you. You are working within the larger Faction. You are working for the Faug Daen. You need to prove Faction loyalty, you need to be a powerful Steel Song operative. Yes, its illegal because its hidden from sight and some parts of Steel Song Clan would jump all over it, but other powerful parts of Steel Song are approving the operations, clearly. The left hand knows not what the right hand does. Can you prove that by having the rep and the money and not buying the Edict? Sorry, no, that doesn't meet the requirement. Also, its a nice way for you to prove the skin you have in the game -- money and rep spent. You have something to lose. Rank and Edict will be common requirements for missions and stories.

That was the final mission for him, to bring him to the planet he wanted to go to.
And Hmmm, reloaded the game and he is there again. I swear he disappeared after I first talked to him.

Let me know if you see it happen again. Under no circumstance should he disappear unless he dies or your recruit him.

So story feedback.
Man that took a long time. I started at level 12 and by the end I'm at level 18 and have visited 80% of the galaxy running mission for these people. I lost a lot of high level crew, especially a lot of specialists and I destroyed a lot of rep with people to get it up with Steel Song only to throw all that away too for one soldier. The Trooper is pretty impressive. I'm going to have to go get built up again for some combat and try him out. Maybe get ready for some of those boarding talents you're brining online. Due to the work/reward ratios, this is probably the last legendary officer I would go for, as he really dominates a Captain's story line. You sort of have to really really want him to invest that much time to get him. I think I might try siding with Steel Song some other time, just to see how that ends.
I am curious to see if I get some special encounter here soon.

That's a lot of heavy lifting for sure, hours to get the Soldier. He is possibly the best Soldier you will ever recruit. The Elite 303 is very serious about its standards. Maybe some of the Rep thresholds should be limited a bit. The +10 starting Rep with Seith will probably help a lot, since you don't have to chase another contact to get started with her. Also, more mission types coming from Wardens will be helpful down the line.

Also I realized that somewhere along the line I was dropped down to -100 P. Rep with Commander Russ. That was pretty much following the story and I did eventually free him and he is a member of my crew now. I chose not to do the tunnel fight. Maybe it happened then?

It just sounds like a bug ... if you freed Vytautas via either means, you should have highly positive Rep with Axeil. Will investigate. I guess we should also reset your Cadar Rep if it has gone negative due to working with SSC -- Axeil foots the bill for a full pardon.

If we used skip off the void to get away from Faug Daen once, will they come back after us again later?

If we used skip off the void to get away from Faug Daen once, will they come back after us again later? It's something we've been toying with for every surprise ship combat. For example, the Bounty Hunter Zerod will come back on repeat until you face him. You are told that he is relentless in his pursuit. The second bounty Hunter, Zen, will not repeat. The Faug Daen currently do not repeat. If it was easy to do "repeat 3 times" we might do that for most ship combats. Maybe we need to find a way to make that easier.
