For some reason, whenever I'm flying through a long sector, I have the hankering to check out local contacts, rumors, galaxy map, etc... (which of course doesn't work)
It does work for the faction button, and gracefully closes if I get a ship contact.
Put it WAY down the list, but would be cool and helpful if one could open the mission, contacts, rumors, etc... while flying. Feels like I would be making good use of 'dead' time in the game.

Why are you unable to check them out? Pop them, pin them, navigate?

Why are you unable to check them out? Pop them, pin them, navigate? yah, it's more of thinking about checking out the galaxy map (or missions/etc) after I've started navigating. I know I could stop, open up a window, then restart nav; but thinking of the ability to check something that became top-of-mind while I was just waiting for the ship to get to the hyperwarp gate (or elsewhere).

Use your Hotkeys while flying en route. By using the Hotkeys, it will not stop the ship moving and still allow you to view the screen you want.
Not sure...but it might also interrupt any 'interruptions' in flight too.
Everytime i use a hotkey while in transit, I never get ship contacts. Might be my limited experience in using hotkeys while in transit...but perhaps others have seen this too.

This is a yuge quality of life for me. Maybe top 3. With healing/repairing/spicing on landing screen without having to check stardock and spice hall being the only thing that's a tie.
Actually this is a bigger irritation than that.
Not being able to check subscreen during travel.
