1. Just wondering why the cargo space can't be utilized or converted to transport Passengers/Prisoners ?
2. Occasionally we are completed restricted for taking a prisoner/passenger mission because we don't have the particular type available. Just wondering why it cannot be set to be a strong warning, but you can still have the option to take the mission if you choose to override the warning ? There are situations where if you plan things correctly where you could potentially drop someone off, convert the cabin and resume the next mission ..

it's just a restriction. I like to think of it as the contact wanting to see that you have a passenger cabin prior to allowing you to accept a mission. So it's a pre-requisite.
I have run into situations where I only have one passenger cabin, but doing multiple missions for passenger transport, so you have to juggle the limited space to complete the missions. i suppose you could flip the passenger cabin to a prison cell to accept prison capture missions and use starports to convert back and forth as needed, so you'd just need to have the right one before you can accept the mission.

Exactly -- the Contact wants a tour of the ship before making any deals. The "oh, the cabin will be really nice" type offer just wouldn't work in this type of formalized negotiations. You're a sworn and chartered Star Trader, and have a proud tradition to uphold.

Perhaps on #1 -- you are aware that you can replace any type of component with any other type of component? Just wanted to be sure. On #2, we do have a bug in for the game that it isn't considering the potential space you have properly. The mission thing is too restrictive at the moment, denying you a new passenger mission to pick up a passenger simply because you have a passenger on board already. It's a complicated problem to fix, but it is on list to fix. Sounds like that is what you are asking about.

You're not always able to do it, but I believe that if you're looking at two missions from the same contact and you have one pick-up and one drop-off you can still take them both if you accept the pick-up passenger first. This leaves the passenger room empty (till you pick them up). However if you take the mission that adds someone to your pass-cabin first, you won't be able to take the second one.

I believe the bug to get this worked out is actually yours contributor. Still on the list to pin down the logic and fix.

I'm a bit confused by this as I cannot see any way to replace a ship component with a completely different component type. All I can see are upgrades within the same type. eg. Trying out the scout cutter and finding out I can do the arbiter quest or any escort pickup quests for lack of passenger space. Am willing to drop my guns if I have to ..but can't figure out how. PS. Scout Cutter seems pretty horrible in it's initial configuration as you can't seem to pick up 70%+ of the quests.

Ishvara - thats why I was posting to be sure you knew how. Click the tabs at the bottom -- like weapon / cargo / operations. This refilters the list of components. Sorry, the UI is crap. As soon as we've finished the event list rebuild (tonight?) we will be working on improving the starport.

I guess I didn't experiment enough.

Glad we could help -- that should definitely make missions etc more possible once you rebuild the ship a bit.
