Very often, the green cards that show "Varied Results" give bad results. The assumption, however, is that green cards give good results, so it feels like "cheating" when they do not. There's enough luck involved in the game already that the possibility of a positive card being in fact negative feels over the top.

Thanks for the feedback! The positive result on the card is a sum total of all the possible results that the card includes. Overall, it is far more positive than not.

That's not obvious, though, so <shrug> I told you how I reacted to a green card giving a bad result, and how I think other players will react to it. It's no big deal for me, but I thought it worth mentioning.

Are you referring to the green Various cards that give Pirates? I can see people feeling a little mislead by those. I would suggest we get brown cards (that's what happens when you mix red and green right?) but then those should be saved for -6 xeno cards.

To enforce the law? I don’t like the rumor card, which is green, but sometimes results in wasted time and morale loss and no new rumor. However, I wouldn’t call that red like xenos or ship damage either.

There's a separate thread started by bobc , where there is active discussion/thought on being able to use remove/reroll talents on green cards or red cards. Several examples are given, but (depending on your gamestyle / game situation) you might prefer to NOT be involved in a faction conflict (Green Card) or NOT encounter a merchant vessel (Green Card); and really have no fear of possible ship damage or crew damage red cards that were rolled (your skill pools and talents are strong enough to mitigate the risk). Seeing comments on the forum and discord of "I don't like xxx card when patrolling/spying", wondering if a rule change that bobc was suggesting might be a good solution for these situations? EDIT: Tried to find the thread, but no avail. Might NOT have been bobc , so apologies if I can't remember who started the discussion.

The only to-do item we have related to the these cards is to fix a "tow a wounded ship back" which can be a result from a Distress Signal during a Blockade. Doesn't make much sense.

Not something we would consider a priority at this time, no plans to change it.
