I apologize if there is a thread for this, I could not find it. I entered my Steam Key, installed the game, and tried to run it. It would not run, it would say running for a few seconds, after i click on it to open it, and then nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, I have restarted steam. I have updated Nvidia. Any suggestions?

It was for early access on Steam, so I got the Keys Nov 14th, but I just this week installed. THere are two keys, I only used the first set.

Sorry for not being clear Robert.
What version of the game did you install? (ex. 2.0.43) What Operating System are you using? (ex. Windows, Mac, Linux) What version of the OS do you have installed (ex. Windows 10)

Heh, no, if i had a clue, Im sure i would have answered better. That said, I've had Steam for years, and have tons of games on it, and never ran into this problem. Version of Game: I tried to see within Steam what version it is, but I can't find that information. Windows 10 Home is the OS. Nvidia graphic card on a laptop, I am running Civ 6, so I am assuming I can run this game graphically.
Yeah, as for the version, I have no idea how that works with Steam, since I just get a key to enter.
Thanks

You could double check that the redist libraries are installed.
"\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Traders Frontiers\_CommonRedist"
Might also check your machine for any problematic RealTech Audio stuff.
If you keep having troubles you can def email cory.trese@gmail.com for KickStarter support.
I test the game on a laptop using Windows 10, NVidia GPU as well.
That said, we've got tons of users on Steam, and we've been supporting games on here for years and haven't found a problem yet we couldn't fix.

Also could try Validating the Steam download in the Library view.
Thanks!

So I went and poked around and found where you or your brother had indicated that Visual Studio for C++ had to be done manually. So I installed that, the x86 or whatever, and restarted my machine, and now i appear to have a functioning game. Thank you. Robert

Sorry, it should never have to be done manually -- Steam always attempts to install it as a prerequisite. However, sometimes it doesn't get it right. Glad you have a working game

If you have time, I'd like to further investigate. If you can send me your SystemInfo, my email is cory.trese@gmail.com I am trying to determine if Steam considered the prerequisite already installed and was mixing up the x86 and x64 run-times. Looks like it took us a couple of days to get this figured out, and I am sorry for the trouble. If there is anything further we can do, please do not hesitate to ask. If you do enjoy playing the game, please leave a positive review -- that helps my brother and I a lot making our case to Steam
