Ok so I found out that if you reach a certain level rank with your faction military you can buy freighters cheap enough to where you can trade them in for more than you bought them for. Have tried this on normal and demanding, not sure about higher difficulty. You basically change your ship to the freighter and keep trading in for more freighters. But yeah if you sit there long enough you can generate hundreds of thousands, albeit kind of boring.

aceman14321 - thanks for the post and if we can reproduce the bug, we'll fix it! What ship exactly are you talking about? There are multiple ships called freighters. Perhaps you could post some screenshots? Finally, what version of the game are you playing? Check the main menu please.

What I do know is that they are a rank ship and the one I've tried is called the "de valtos freighter"
