How do talents like Rallying Cry work that protect against crew and/or morale damage? Do they reduce incoming crew damage by a percent? Or do they prevent crew damage completely a percent of the time? Does it work identically for morale?
Eventually I'd like to put this information in the wiki somewhere.

Before damage is dealt, the number of crew to be damaged and the amount of damage (physical or morale) is reduced by these %'s.
5 crew going to suffer 60 damage ... reduced by 20% ... 4 crew will suffer 48 damage

Aha. Excellent. Thanks for the answers. Now I need to think of a place on the wiki to put this.

Lol I am not sure I gave you the full answer.
IF the protection exceeds the damage, then the equation above is used. If not, then the damage is directly reduced by the protection amount (not %).
That's complex.

Hmm, what is the "protection amount" in cases like Rallying Cry? It says it reduces both by 20%. That is the percent. Is it also 20 "amount"? Thus, my guess would be that if you were taking 50 damage, you'd take 30 instead. If you were taking 10, you'd take 8 instead. Both crew count and severity per crew for both cases. Is that what you meant?

I will try to find time to type it up clearly when the holidays lapse.
