A lot of our alpha players asking about the status of their alpha saved games and unlocks once the game transitions to full launch on Google Play and the App Store.
Here is what we can know!
iOS If you use iTunes, you can extract the saved games from the app. Then, after installing the game from the App Store, you should be able to put them back into the new app.
Android This is more uncharted territory for us. There are two possibilities that we think are pretty hopeful:
1. Once the game is launched on Google Play, you may simply get an "Update" button in Google Play store if you have the game installed from HockeyApp. Google Play will happily take over at that time.
2. Newer versions of Android OS have a special ability to retain game data even after an uninstall. If you uninstall the game and then reinstall the game from Google Play, you may find that your saved games magically re-appear.
Barring these two options working on your device (which is one of 14,000 with many, many different versions of Android OS ... so its simply hard to predict) saved games will not transfer from alpha to the production version.

Has anyone had issues with alpha save data and their kickstarter keys on android? I wont get a key for a little while, but I'm having some anticipatory anxiety about the possibility of losing saved captains and unlocks when it's my turn! (It's also possible that I just think/worry too much.)

brentaur - so far, we've only heard reports of success -- saved games transferring across without any issue. So, we're very positive on all the work we put into this having paid off.
