Hello everyone, I've been playing stf and st for few years now, stf was one of the games I've been anxiously waiting for, and is one of my all time favorites, I've buried a lot of friends and shipmates in those years, and have no plans to retire. And so, the question-while bounty hunters and military ships deny you an option to surrender and keep moving like nothing happened if you have bad rep with their faction (they can give you an option to surrender to execution or just attack you without any options other then combat)pirates are suspiciously kind/dumb-they only search you cargo hold and go away if it is empty. While it is kind of logical-pirates may not care about faction rep but their own gain only, they still respect trade permits thus being more like government sponsored privateers then all out robbers. This leads to ridiculous patrol runs when every pirate I meet searches my empty cargo hold, finds nothing, goes away to pirate while I still receive positive rep for "dealing" with piracy. I mean if I'm the legendary crime lord with the faction that sponsors them they should probably punish me too, somehow, maybe loot crew of their credstics or mobile phones or something, try extorting money at a gunpoint (they're already on my ship) with all that escalating to combat if their demands are denied. Also enemy spies may have some means to unauthorizedly access my databanks, full of their faction secrets, when they catch me spying. Well, a suggestion. Also, big thanks for a great game, devs!

Thanks for the feedback. We are scheduled to be looking at the Pirate AI and defeat cycle after the fighters patch and update circus leaves town.
I think there is lots of room to improve and add more nuance for pirates, both Faction and Indie, and inside and outside their own Quadrants.
