 New recruit. With stealth and tactics like that, I think -- she's one for Sniper school. Except that rifles want Quickness and not Strength, and Quickness is by far her worst stat. So I don't think I want her using a rifle. Can she use the sniper attacks while holding a machine gun? Or should I train her in something else, like Xeno Hunter, and stop trying to see her as a Sniper? |

By the way, one of those hidden traits is frail  -2 Fortitude -1 Strength. Now if only I knew a Chaesin Doctor for her to visit ... |

At least as an officer you can use the stealth towards skill pools
Thoughts from a newbie, I don’t think it’s horrible to have your soldier/sniper use a machine gun. I think I like that better than my first thought.
based on my narrative diplo/smuggler captain, I might even do swordsman/assassin, I know that wastes one job ( I held out for Vytautas for my sniper and Elsa for my exo)

Thank you. The question is, will the game automatically stick a rifle in her hands if I train her as a Sniper? and refuse to let me equip a machine gun? I'd rather not try it and find out the answer is 'yes'.

Crew auto-equip the best weapon until you manually equip. Once you manually equip, they stick to that until you tell it to go back to auto by clicking "Auto"
