There I am in the middle of enforcing a trader embargo with dec valtos. Im just 2s-3xy years away from aquiring tempest fugit. I fly back to home world for water-fuel restock and recruit to fill the small gap in my ranks. Im owning the galaxy with my longbow. I get clearance to depart and lift off through the atmospheres and blast off into the dark void of space. A tiny lottle mulitary shuttle appears to challenge me. After failed attemots to ignore it., I added it. to the stats sheets. Then out of nowhere a jango class appears out of nowhere. We exchange tprpedos . I close tp engage guns it. It.gifts me a torpedo edo , delivered expresss with a smile to my yinyang That hit turned my engines to sh*ta and other ship crew uses my a $$ hole as a stomping grounds all the way to the gallows.I have owned the jangos until then. Wnat made this one so special?

This one probably has the family name of "Fett" written all over it.

Did you check the level of the captain? Eg. If you encountered a pirate in an escape shuttle, but it was level 9001, it would be almost impossible to beat.

The only way a level 9001 pirate would ever be in an escape shuttle would be SOMETHING. MORE. HORRIBLE. PUT. HIM. THERE.

(I'd put my money on some nasty alien captain, for "Who made the level 9001 pirate captain use his escape shuttle?")

Nah. Lvl 9001 pirate Captain just buys his Escape Shuttle to have some fun. Taking out Dreadnoughts, Cruisers and the like. Doing the "Impossible Challenge" .

The "more horrible" thing is the hyper-dyper lucky lvl.1 mercahnt that decided to ram and succeed to collapse the pirates ships hull.

Impossible would make Verizon Wireless extremely happy. I'd be constantly replacing cells that were thrown against walls. LOL

Just curious, how many times have you used "Death? Not today!" option (aka Died) when playing Normal difficulty?

What I discovered and appreciated was in the beginning. With this and my beloved Ghost Captain in Basic, both got slaughtered or lost mutinties like crazy at about the same period. Somewhere around level 5-9 I'm guessing now. However I knew I could push through it if I got to a friendly planet to replenish.
By level 10 or so I was to experienced for mutinties even with no w-f. No other ships would attack. The worst I've encountered is my speedy thumb during blockades while not paying close attention. I've inadvertently surrendered three times in this game. I was imprisoned the first two times. The third I just got the "they called us a criminal" screen.
I know for you spacers that is the way of Shalun. However I really, really, really hate the whole starting over again aspect. I've thought of starting a new Captain in Normal just so I can change him to a Military Officer. However besides the hating starting from scratch, I doubt if being a Military Officer vs Explorer makes any difference. I'm currently on Lvl 151, 15k exp and $85.4 million.
