I have a question how long did it take in game time to beat CK story mode?
I ask this only for the reason to get an idea how I'm progressing? I currently have 62 days 10 hours 11mins of game time. I am sure that someone has a mathematical way to recalculate that to real world or actual time? I do not so that is why I started this thread. Thanks chummers!

That is about 90,000 turns.

@fraggin - on Normal difficulty it took me 11 hours and 32 minutes. I took me 59 days in game. I had the advantage of knowing what I was supposed to be doing, but also allowed myself some side-tracks (building a team so I could beat the end-game battles which are very hard).

My first brutal character finished the whole tutorial in 116 days 2 hours and 10 minutes. My second one built a team and so took 123 days, 21 hours.
Since I know the NBZ very well, I stayed in the Tunnels for about 40 days each time, taking assasination and capture missions until I raised 20K. Because I know how hard it is to find well paying jobs I was capable of above ground, and so really liked the rate of return in the Tunnels.
edit: I just noticed I wrote 40K there. I spent about 40 days, yes, but to raise 20K.

I have not actually completed story mode. But I have several times succeeded in getting out of the Tunnels by day 12, in about 1 hour of playing time, in Brutal mode. To do that, I basically have to completely ignore heat and Los V rep, so I end up with a Los V rep of -50 to -70, and on top of that an NBZ Heat of 80 to 100. That means I have to be a lot more careful once I get to the NBZ.

That means I have to be a lot more careful once I get to the NBZ. I took this as an indication that I might be missing out on some fun. Plus, aside from getting King's taxi chip, which poor old Born-Not-Made cannot do I get very little pleasure out of working for the Fennians in the NBZ. So my new plan was to not leave the Tunnels until I had 150 rep with Fennian and until my bad rep with LosV was a solid red bar all across the display. Which would be a novel thing for me, as I never let my heat get that high or anything close to it normally. So I got out in 12 days, with 156 Fennian rep. Turns out that getting that last red bar of LosV hatred is harder than I would have thought. I started life in the NBZ with a lovely 35K to my name. I bought a 4 job computer, have hired 2 martial artist runners (now allies) and worked off the bad feeling in Los V as a way of training them. The bad rep went away quicker than I expected. So I guess I get to train them a bit working for BS. I suspect that the (tutorial) game will end before I can afford Kraken armour all around. It has been quite interesting. I recommend the experience, thnaks Ahab!

(for me that is) Again thanks for all the posts. To play brutal regularly, you have to be willing to see a character you have spent weeks developing suddenly die in a random encounter. Not everyone has that mindset, but even if you don't it can be fun to try once in a while, as a change of pace. Enjoy!

I really like the 5 times battling out of hell for a real death idea. Though perhaps 3 would be sufficient. I've never played the game referenced; it sounds like fun. And that CK mentioned raised 30K so headed to get a Kraken armour. Decided to take a job to that zone since I would be in the neighbouhood. Got shot dead doing the job... sigh, back to the tunnels for me.

Snipers generate more heat than cyan glove using cyberswords.
I'm a Legendary Slum Rat[/i] (rep -120 with Los V) now, and I'm not ready to leave yet. ;D
