at this time the only place to see that ship icon is in the unlocked starting ship. i'm still running tests on the other ship designs i came up with for it.

I need help with getting the second wanted flag. On my beginnings on lower levels and earlier versions of game I sometimes got it. But now on crazy I'm unable to. I've read that you get second flag for being a hated criminal. I'm a Legendary Crime Lord at all three clans (-120 to -240) Maybe it's because I've purchased the ship and lost a criminal flag for a while? But I got it back really fast  Do you have to be hated criminal for 22 years without interruption? Meaning no purchasing of new ships? |

2nd flag comes from the Syndicates, I believe. You need one from the Clans, one from the Syndicates.

Go blockade some of your friends. I was able to get the award having one flag for a long time and then getting the other and hitting a Hall of Records. The new ship thing shouldn't affect it.

Thanks, I just did that and it worked. I had one flag for over 20 years and second flag for a very short time aft, too bad De Valtos and Rychart have allied themselves (too bad for them). Now I'm playing Crazy difficulty with +250 rep with Cadar and all other factions hostile (clans at -300). The true Cadar way ;D
Oh, and purchasing ships definitely didn't have any impact on it, I mean on award, I wouldn't have made it that far without buying new ship.

jerry -- someone reported the flags/nemesis/buy ship thing in a verrrrry unhappy e-mail some weeks ago so I put in a 50 line custom patch to watch for that happening, keep secret records and still grant the award. whew, the things we to make people like us, eh? =)

@cory - I can't seem to get Dark Nemesis to register, and I would be happy to provide any diagnostic info.
Playing Elite, crazy, explorer
First wanted criminal hit around '89. Had all the nobles hating me by 119ae (though I kept positive ranks with the syndicates). It is now 269, my noble reputations are between -600 and -2000, though my syndicate reps are above 151.
I switched ships around 125ae.
Am I misreading the award? Do I need both a syndicate and a noble house wanted flag? Any help would be appreciated!

You need to have two pirate flags -- one from the syndicates, one from the houses

OK, I have made over 40 attempts at this achievement. The last run this is what I did: Level: CRAZY Captain: SPY Ship: Tempus Fugit Faction: Syndicate Rychart Ship upgrades (Ran out of time to fully upgrade and still meet time constraints): Combat: NONE Interior: Water-Fuel Tank Propulsion: NONE Armament: Omni-Stealth Array Prior to 67.1 I became a Wanted Criminal (at least -38) with both House of Thulun and De Valtos Syndicate. I then built up just enough money and upgrades. I stacked Stealth and Pilot early and then Tactics. Once I got to around yr 69, I started to heavily surveillance each of the above factions. I got -100 with DVS first then HoT. I burned off the rest of the time at an independent urban planet and at yr 79.13 I went to the palace, Hall of Records, Record Exploits....NADA!!! I have exactly -100 with each faction right now and believe I had enough at the beginning point to earn this achievement. Can anyone explain what the heck I am doing wrong? I have should have earned this 3 other times (based on what I have read and the answers Cory has sent to me). HELP!!!  |

I finally got Dark Nemesis and the Century Award. ;D I'm playing a Pirate on Crazy difficulty. I'm a Legendary Criminal with Clan Javat (-188 rep) and Syndicate Rychart (-256 rep), but I've maintained a positive rep with the other 4 factions. I'm really careful about who I engage when I have Wanted flags. If I come across a house or syndicate that I have a positive rep with, I'll ignore the ship, instead of acknowledge, unless it's a merchant or smuggler. I've burned most of time flying from one end of space to the other doing missions. I'm flying a Carnifex Cruiser with a crew of 318, and if I do get in a battle with someone I quickly advance to beat them by Boarding them. It's taken a long time with many, many dead captains to get here. The trick was keeping a postive rep with the 4 factions and being really careful about engaging the ships I've run across. I've also been really lucky and haven't run across any aliens. (Knock on wood.)  |
