Love the new button designs! Does make a little harder (too dark for me) to see though, but I can always adjust brightness as needed. Just wanted to point out that the little square button for switching in between Faction/Rumor/Conflict is still in the old grey-style.

I don't like the new buttons. I can't see them outside in daylight. I'd rather have the old ones back; any chance it could be an option in the game settings (or just roll back the change)?

I'm trying to give the new buttons some time. At first I didn't like them, but that might have just been because they're different. I do like how they give the game a more unique look. The other buttons were functional, but so blah. I do find certain circumstance where it's been harder to see the buttons. Such as after a bounty contract, it's hard to see if the "destroy" button is bolded or not. Since I normally forget what kind of contract I've taken I rely on that to tell me what to do at a glance. I haven't played outside though, so I don't know what that's like. It does seem like having the old buttons, or some other "outdoor" optional setting would be a good idea. Overall though I like the new style.

I think the new buttons look nice, but I can't see them in broad daylight. It's harder to play outside. I have to find some shade, or I can't play.
Of course, it's always been harder to play in bright daylight, but now it seems impossible.
I didn't like it the last time he changed the buttons either, but it didn't take long to get used to them. This time might be harder.

Are you finding that the button is highlighted in orange like the HUD and the Urban (etc) buttons are when there is a contract waiting? In the new style, "just bold" text is really hard to see, so any highlight like that should change the color of the button (reddish orange). Maybe we missed a device resolution for that highlight case!

ST is such a big game in terms of interfaces, it is amazing how long it can take to get 100% coverage! Thanks!

In order to provide quality product, we can't have major option branches like that because it would basically double the size of our testing matrix, which is already pretty large due to all the different Android device and resolution combinations + layout + portrait mode. I hope you will come to like the buttons eventually, in general the response has been overwhelmingly positive and in my opinion it is a big step forward for the game UI. Thanks for the feedback as always!

In combat, torpedo, gun, engines, decks and board aren't outlined in red at the appropiate ranges like other buttons are when bolded.

I second lurker's observation. It's mainly an issue with different button states distinguishing themselves easily, as I have to look at them more closely to be sure if a button is active or not. I think this would be easily remedied by making active buttons significantly brighter and/or thickening the borders.

Thanks for the extra feedback guys! We will work through this again to make the highlight more clear and to catch the places where the button is not going orange at the right time.

Fallen, here is the screen I was talking about. I realize now that part of the problem is also me. I'm mildly color-blind. So the red around the border doesn't really "pop" for me, and the bold isn't that powerful either. Attachments:

contributor - perfect, the feedback is really helpful. It is clear that a simple color change is not enough and that we also need to change the color of the text. I will work on changing the actual button so that if they were all "basic gray" you'd still be able to pick the highlighted one!

If it were a color other than red it might be ok. I mostly have trouble with reds and browns.

Love the new buttons. Question, how do "Templar Space Hives" fit into the lore? Are they essentially drifting Templar ships that were overrun and lost?
