Hiho,
when in non-grouped mode, double-clicking is required for movement (as it should be, IMO). In grouped mode, a single click works (which makes sense). However, i find myself constantly double-tapping to move in grouped mode (out of habit) and this _stops_ the group. IMHO, for consistency, grouped mode should treat single- and double-tap identically: move the group.

That would make it too difficult to cancel movement, wouldn't it?
While I see what you are saying, I think the ability to easily cancel an move order is critical.

Good point - i didn't think of cancelling movement (which of course is necessary). Okay, scratch that idea. Edit: maybe a "tap frantically" gesture to stop movement

Also, you might tweek the timing of double tap detection to slightly longer- I'm not an invalid, but I get it wrong about 1 in 4 attempts. The problem is made worse by the thing detecting my double taps as an attempt to drag. Also a minor timing issue. Maybe it has to do with playing on a small phone screen? Anyways, I just discovered the game today and it looks awesome so far. Will definitely buy the episodes if all goes well. We indies have to stick together!

What device and OS are you using? I can look into the timing delay report.

I have a similar problem as Yttermayn.
especially in group mode. it seems I spend a lot of time trying to make clicks happen. 1- click often nothing,2- clicks often nothing, 1- click sometimes full move sometimes I space,2- clicks sometimes full move sometimes 1 space.
very soft click sometimes works, sometime a heavy click works.
this has been an ongoing problem for me for all updates.
I've been waiting to see if the problem would go away, or see others with the same problem. I kept thinking it might be just me.
HTC Sensation, android 4.0.3

Everywhere in the game?
Are you having trouble with single tap on buttons in the main menu?

For the double-tap movement, I've always found that the indicator for the first tap fades away too fast after you've selected it. You either have to double-tap to move pretty quickly to move, or not at all. I'm still in favor of tap once, and a target indicator appears. Tap on that indicator, and your character/party moves there. If you tap somewhere else, the original indicator disappear, and a new indicator appears. There is no time constraints - you can tap once, wait 20 seconds while you ponder "is that exactly where I want to go", then tap on the square again to move.
Problems with current implementation 1) Tap once and it fades away because you've got slow fingers 2) The second tap misses the first tap square, effectively creating a new target indicator (fat-finger syndrome). Because you've gotten used to #1, you end up tapping frantically rather than accurately, and all of a sudden, your character moves to the wrong location! 3) Tap and tap again quickly means sometimes you find you are moving the wrong character. Only after the character starts moving do you realise you've had the wrong character highlighted, but because you have to double-tap fast, you aren't as careful as you would like to be.

We have to be extremely careful with how we proceed.
We've already made some pretty big changes based on user feedback.
That's generating a lot of negative reviews and 1 star posts.
While I see some merits in your proposal, I think we would be foolish to make more drastic changes now.
To be frank, there will be many people who strongly dislike the suggestion you make, some many who disagree with your problems list.
If we make another big change now, we'll get all the 1* from both camps.
At this point the only option we have is to work on stabilizing the game, getting any form of press (good or bad) and finishing Episode 1.

I have a similar problem that is nothing like Yttermayn's. it seems I spend a lot of time trying to make clicks happen. 1- click often nothing HTC Sensation, android 4.0.3 This is really the part this thread is focused on. I asked above ... Everywhere in the game? Are you having trouble with single tap on buttons in the main menu?

Cory Trese is there any way you can create an options page like you have for other TB games? In ST, you have the option for double-tap/single tap moves, and it would be great to offer that for users to choose for themselves. You could then throw in the sounds/music/blood into the options as well.

There are no ways that I'm going to explore.
The options pages in the other TB games ... shudder.
We will be adding some additional options in the future for OS control issues like "keep screen on"
"In ST, you have the option for double-tap/single tap moves"
This is the case I point to as well. The cost of maintaining the code to support that Options page has probably included enough hours that, if we hadn't committed to it, we'd probably all have another 2 TB games to play.
I've been down that road, I know where it goes. I'm not going down there again.

I've been down that road, I know where it goes. I'm not going down there again. All we needed was a little " ... Neo." Yes, death to options screens.

Everywhere in the game? Are you having trouble with single tap on buttons in the main menu? I have no issues with single taps nor with buttons, I just have the problems with double tap. I can echo slayernz's post here startradersrpg.proboards.com/post/69768/thread pretty much letter for letter regarding issues. I admit, I am not a young whipper snapper like some of the others and I am probably slower and have fatter fingers than many here.(I use a tablet, yet have tap the wrong square issue often.) I know we can't totally abandon the current double tap movement methodology, but can we please try to make it more "idiot"(moi) friendly?
