Nightmare Difficulty, Karj party, following sequence does not include trips back to Oskahold to visit inn.
Left West Gate, went north & followed road around over the bridges back to the south. Cleared the south side of the zone, including Warm Cavern zone up to bridge. Walked on bridge, did NOT get the bridge dialogue. Did Ratkin idol fight. ** Trips back and forth after this explore more and more of the north side of WG zone. ** Moving back east, got to stairs and fought Ratkin around caravan, did NOT get caravan dialogue. Did the Muddy Cavern zone and retrieved caravan package. Return to Oskahold, Lost Caravan completion NOT available. Zoned in and out, visited other parts of Oskahold, still no caravan completion. Went back to West Gate, surveyed map, explored missed bits on north side, return to Oskahold, no caravan completion. Walked back to burned bridge, GOT bridge dialogue, walked all around caravan area, made sure I had opened the chest in Muddy Cavern (yes), return to Oskahold, no caravan completion. Walked back to burned bridge, did not get bridge dialogue, walked into caravan area, GOT caravan dialogue, return to Oskahold, GOT caravan completion.
Lots of walking over areas already explored to repeat quest sequence when I already had the objective.

algesan - very interesting report, I will take a look, #HOS-2288. In the case that you think there is a dialog that you should be getting, I'd suggest walking into the area purposefully (specifically thinking of the bridge ... the dialog is there, always there, only fires once, but has no pre-condition that would ever prevent it from firing ... so if you had walked into it, it would always fire). I suspect you stopped short of the trigger.

I had a similar problem, but was never able to get the final dialog from Strom on the caravan quest. I've gone back in the western caverns several times, gone to the bridge, made sure I explored all of the map. I'd love to hear what you get from Strom upon quest completion, even in general terms. This would satisfy my curiosity. Original thread describing my problem in this area: startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/6208/episode-lady-strom-mild-spoilers

tenbsmith - do you think it possible that you went down into the cave before you found the caravan? That might explain the out of order issue?

I got to the warm caverns and completed the Silver Cohort quest prior to getting to the caravan.

tenbsmith - sorry, that you went into the caravan cave before finding the caravan?

Not sure about your question. I went into the warm caverns with the giant beetles and tombs first. Then later, I found the wrecked caravan and the stairs to the place with the caravan chest. Upon opening that chest there was dialogue indicating we would wait and talk to lady Strom about how best to split up the loot.

Ok, thanks - that answer explains it, you did not have the same ordering as reported by algesan. We will keep working on it!

I just completed the caravan quest, but it was not until the third time walking through the busted up wagons that I triggered the dialogue. That was after clearing the cave/opening Strom's chest (the wooden box that is). I did get the reward when I went back to Strom. The problem seems to be that you have to trigger the dialogue by the busted wagons to get the reward, and sometimes that text is difficult to trigger.
One additional puzzle piece, the first time I went in by the wagons was in combat. So I exited combat probably standing on the trigger, but never got the dialogue. Would that somehow mess it up?

Oh wow, yes, the triggers are totally strange. You basically -should- walk up to a wagon and tap the wagon. That is the way it seems to be built. There are 2 squares next to the north-most wagon that can be walked into, but otherwise you -must- tap a wagon.
Will work on fixing this!

I suspect you stopped short of the trigger. Ugh, as in a specific square? I know the first time I got to the bridge I walked on it and thought there was supposed to be a dialogue triggered, but just kept on to the idol area. I was making sure I hit every square on the bridge when I triggered it the second time. Ditto for getting the caravan dialogue finally, but I know I had passed through that set of squares at least twice previously. Heh, comparing tight square triggers to the Korvaine's Rift bridge fight, where you can walk the side tunnels and come out *behind* the Ratkin and Vraes still complains that the Ratkin are one step ahead of the party and defending the bridge against the group. Hey, Vraes, you know that if we could just sneak off we wouldn't have to fight the bridge crew.....

I got to the warm caverns and completed the Silver Cohort quest prior to getting to the caravan. Sliver Cohort quest? Uhoh, have I missed one? I thought it was all just backstory after talking to the old lady, visiting the shrine and finding the two tombs.

algesan - 1) the Korvain's Trench ambush was fixed for southbound travelers in a recent release. 2) The caravan quest requires you to touch a burnt out wagon. 3) In the West Road, you have to reach the far western bridge, the one -past- the idol. The triggers are set up in such a way that you could not set foot on that bridge without the dialog firing. Thanks!

Thanks! 1) Heh, that was just a funny one, not a serious issue, my last two groups (both NM) have walked straight up to the bridge and assaulted it. Only my Normal test group "snuck around". 2) Okay, I have no clue if I did or did not do that in my runs through the area, obvious answer is that I didn't twice and then did the third time. I do know I've quit "touching" stuff on purpose since it never seemed to do anything in the game other than at specific locations (open village doors, steps, camps). Heh, although the first time through the game I was hitting every box and wall ornament I could find. Yes, I'm a certified Diablo box kicker. 3) Step on the bridge or in front of it? I cannot say for sure if I stepped *on* the bridge the first time when it didn't trigger. I think I did, but may have just walked past it heading north. When I returned to the area the second time and triggered it, prior to that I shrunk the map and inspected for non explored areas. The entire bridge area was visible (explored). So, possibly I walked by close enough to see for exploring and not hit a trigger square?

2) agreed, the touching stuff is not usual, we are fixing that ... at least it explains why people are missing the triggers 3) Step -on- ... so yes, maybe you walked up to but didn't walk on the wood?
