Yeah, my first generation kindle fire had 1.2.7 by noon Thursday 1/30, so less than 18 hours after Cory posted.
I think rearick may be correct that early to mid-week submission get processed faster. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out.

More data:
- Updates to HoS, ST, and CK last night. - I had ST and CK within 8 hours even on Sat morning from Amazon. - Both of those updates were relatively minor tweaks.
New Hypothesis:
- There is some update threshold that requires someone to take a look at it rather than the automated system.
I like how this thread gets updated rarely now. A real testament to how quickly Amazon is turning things around now.

@rearick - they definitely use automated testing for certain releases. What moves a release through one process or another is hard to say. A new IAP probably gets the slow one

I'm ready to go to Amazon Corporate and plug my Kindle in there to get this update. Who wants to join me?!

I'm ready to go to Amazon Corporate and plug my Kindle in there to get this update. Who wants to join me?! YES! We'll break into Amazon headquaters, flip over laserbeams guarding the solid-gold computer holding Trese Brother updates, plug in via prototype wristwatch tech and download the data, which will suspiciously have no firewalls to stop us. Then an alarm that apparently doesn't go off until we're done downloading data will go off; we'll run through the building dodging machinegun-and-rocket-toting Amazon employees (still wearing khakis and button-down shirts, of course) and sharks wih frickin' laserbeams will open fire from a giant aquarium wall in the lobby. Then someone (probably ntsheep) will bash into the wall with a tank and we'll jump on the outside of the tank while flying through traffic (of course the tank has been fitted with the engine of a Porsche) and dodging police vehicles, roadstrips, ninjas with tank-piercing shirukin and mall cops on Segways (did I mention we STOLE the Porsche engine? Yeah.). Then the army and national guard get involved (erm, the tank isn't ours either) and we'll scream something like "FREE TRESE BROS' UPDATES!", make several exceedingly unlikely jumps into a helicopter driven by Captain Kitty, aka slayernz after setting our tank to cruise control (of course this tank has one??) so it keeps driving and makes a massive (but harmless) explosion to cover our tracks. Then we land in the middle of a desert with a secret base (which is somehow not far from headquaters, but will never be found) and upload the data so it magically appears on every device that has Trese Bro games wihout them even connecting to the internet. And then we'll have a group victory pose, roll the credits to an ancient rock and roll song with some extra badasss takes, have a dance party at the end for no particular reason and make book/tv/soundtrack/toy/badly-made videogame deals while planning for a bigger, crazier and sexier sequel with no logical storyline but EXPLOSIONS GALORE! And we will be rich. Which was the point, right? ... Right?

Woaaah Officer Genious, I think you've been sniffing at torpedo vapors a tiny bit too long! Cats and Helicopters don't mix too well Scary thing is - this image has NOT been photoshopped. Some guys actually made a quad-copter that looks juuuust like a sprawled out cat! (I kinda like it, but you DON'T want to be bombed by this Cat Copter!)

Officer Genious, it just so happens that I'm very good driving tanks. Comes from years of training on an Atari 2600 playing Combat. I also have special rounds loaded with paint, makes pretty pictures, scares the hell out people.

I thought it was the giant PA playing "You are my sunshine" that scared the hell outa people...or was it the stovepipe? Anyways enough with the negative vibes baby!

xdesperado, its a mother beautiful plan that Officer Genious has, with slayernz involved, I'm sure we'll have tigers driving Tigers. Plus don't forget "I've been working on the railroad" for our soundtrack.

Plus don't forget "I've been working on the railroad" for our soundtrack. I was saving that for the sequel! Along with having slayernz serenade a tiger so we can get past Amazon's new defense grid. And slayernz was going to turn down the hot tigress and walk badassedly into the sunset. Can't get but so much better than that.

Still needs Ride of the Valkeries in it and someone saying "I'll be bak!" while doing the splits and shooting a bow!

I'll bribe Lesleyr with chocolate to come flying in with a fleet of De Valtos flagships. She'll make a great Valkerie. I'm not sure who we could get to say "I'll be back", what movie is that from anyway
