Writing a Cyber Knight's story has got me thinking about all sorts of intricacies of the NBZ. Like, do Cyber Knights just travel around with little roller suitcases all the time? or do they just buy new clothes? or do they just keep turning their underwear inside out until they get the chance to wash them in the sink? I suppose it's different once you get a safe house, but what if you don't get back there for days or weeks at a time?

contributor Maybe they just have a safe somewhere (bank, hidden cache in the sewers...) where they keep all their stuff until they find some better place to store them. I guess that if the "creating cache" option finally gets implanted in CK, it will make more sense.

contributor, sometimes I suspect an unspoken part of the CyberKnight operation involves enlarging the colon to steamer-trunk proportions to store all the dozens of medkits, kilos of ammo, oodles of spare weapons, yadda yadda.

I figured they carried a duffel. Like that duffel in the movie 'falling down'.

Vending machines at Hotels dispense new clothing. Old clothing is recycled. The toxic nature of the world requires regular nano-scrubbing and that's what clothing recyclers provide. There are several buildings in the NBZ that hint at this

Cory Trese: Oh. Spiffy! In the future, there is no dirty underwear. ... But feel free to air your dirty laundry. Let's face it, the Corps are only watching you deliver random strangers' messages and packages because no one can resist watching people hang their secrets out to dry!! "Did Vinny the Rat send the same love note to Trendy AND Foofoo? Ohoho, Moxa found out and there that poor sucker goes to kill at least one of them..."

Basically, most clothing in the NBZ is really glorified PPE (personal protective equipment.)

But where do they store other gear? Duffel bags? Rucksacks? Tons of pockets?

But where do they store other gear? Duffel bags? Rucksacks? Tons of pockets? Sounds like a personal choice.

Suddenly this thread reminds of an implant that I suggested a long time ago, a cybernetic 3D printer installed in the lower colon. It would totally solve the need to carry any gear around with. Need something you don't have? Where's the nearest loo?

Need something you don't have? Where's the nearest loo? I can imagine a runner saying something like this "Uhh...you keep that, I will stick with my current armor."
