Das Boot, as mentioned is easily the most authentic submarine flick ever. Very poignant. Have you seen the "Uncut" version? Runs for 293 Minutes! It makes you want to open the escape hatches and drown.

Yeah, epic. Even watched the commentary where the actor reckons he spent weeks filming on the con tower set having water blasted at him. Read alot about the wars and the men who fought them. Submariners were a breed apart.

That is really funny! I never knew about the actor getting water blasted at him for weeks. I can vitalize the Director calling for scene re-shoots when not needed just to mess with his head camera men chucking in some water balloons to the back of the head just for fun.

You'd have to wouldn't you. "Several million dollars for the role, you gonna earn that coin. First thing in the morning, Conning tower scene. Last shoot of the day, conning scene. You talking back to me! Must be Conning scene time!?" Lol. I saw it first on a 2 pack vhs.

Crimson Tide Staring Danzel Washington and Gene Hackman. I've watched it several times excellent acting and a little chilling about how a nuke boat could lose control of it's arsenal. 5 out of 5 Stars in my book.

Anyone been aboard one? I took a tour of the Nautilus, an old Fleet sub called the Croaker, an old Lafayette class boomer- the George Washington I think, and my uncle stuffed me into a Japanese Kaiten on exhibit when i was about 5 or so if that counts. I barely remember.

I like Run Silent, Run Deep Over embellished cinema promotion voice :"The shocking true story of a mute athlete and her porn star roommate that specializes in treadmill themed scenes. Submerged and deeply thoughtful kenyan men gagged with gaffer tape don't run as quiet and as deep as this!"
