A little bit of back story

fallen, as I work on my CK story, The Host, I am trying to stay as canon as possible. As I get into what will be more central to the plot I find that I need just a little more backstory to write things well and within the universe of CK. Could you provide just a broad outline of events that lead up to the year 2217? Sorry if this already exists. I tried searching but didn't find much. If it is out there somewhere just point me in the right direction.

Thanks I checked that out. It was very helpful. Two things I'm curious to know a little bit more about are the Tokyo Meltdown that happened 65 years before the game begins and which are tied to the nano-pollutants, and the Pacific Corp Wars. That thread gives the dates of the PCWs but doesn't say anything about the actors and motivations for the war.
