What is your formula for success in the CK sandbox?
Do you take jobs at a particular Connector? Buy a particular weapon first?
If you had to boil it down for a new player, what is your "12 step program for CK victory" =)

1st step: don't die 2nd step: repeat step 1 3rd step: if I die, curse at game, hop up and down madly, delete character, start new one and repeat step 1 4th step: I'll let you know if I get this far.

The quick start by grävling with the strategy of building a character worked out well.

1. Don't die
2. Avoid potentially hostile situations until you are combat ready
3. Package and message jobs only until combat jobs are viable risk vs reward
4. Try to keep heat down and negative rep low. Bribe gangers if you need to
5. Always assume you are behind the curve at first
6. Armor, Medical gear, Weapons, in that order
7. Get to 5 Athletics early
8. Have Runners that complement your Profession. An example:
If you are a Cybersword, you already have good Athletics and close quarters skills, so get a Sniper to cover you at range and a Gunslinger or Agent Ex to cover you in close quarters. The third Runner slot can be used for specialists such as a Hacker or Face

1: Go to the laughing dog bar,los v den, black water saloon and talk to cass, bravestar dude. 2: Go buy some decent armor and medical supplies. 3: Buy myself some ammo and a decent gun. 4: Buy myself a cheap 2 job computer at back bay importers. 5: if I got enough left over buy some implants. (I reccomend athletics and dermal sheathing etc.) 6: Go work for the the lower gangs Fennians,Los V,Streets in that order. 7:Upgrade my knight and buy some better stuff. 8: keep applying steps 2-7 for each level of the NBz and ur golden.

I usually play as a CyberSword, but recently a Hunder. I like to work out of smuggler's dens in the streets and fennian sectors.
I get McFly's v-chip in Southie at E Street Pharmacy. With 2 taxis, its quicker to get in and out (unless its an escort job). So you can take more jobs before you have to rest.
As I get more money, I buy armor, better weapons, 2 job computer, and then implants.
I pick a faction and build rep with them. Then move to another one.
Its at about this time that I run afoul of the corporations, die, and then start over...

I always, no matter what class 1. Go to dorchester, get mcflys vchip always leave enough yen for one 50yen taxi ride use the rest for cram shots 2. Actually I always do this second because I forget but should do first: pick up kass vchip, call get 500 yen 3. Taxi to aztek/mars look for a 2000 yen+, non combat job eg. Surveillance is my favorite pays awsome but havent found any right at start lately 4. Earn 3 rep with yaka and get a 4 job from officer mitchell 5. GET OUT OF CORP LAND 6. Take vinneys jobs till I have enough yen for a cheap suit for both clive and me then go to Dorchester consignment store and pick up assault rifle their 7.travel los v ladder to 4000 yen reward give clive the suit they give you and get a stealth suit 8 take more of vinneys jobs cause it the easiest/quickest way to earn xp 9. By then I go to mars store and swap out my lightfire and assault rifle for raptor 2 and blaze 4 10. I generally scrape up fienneans just enough to get kings v chip right then 11. Get whatever else I need, like 50 stim packs, whatever med kits I can afford 12. Generally, a 4-5 days game time at most, assuming I didnt run into any bravestar offduty patrols or any corp solders except knight horizon I will still be alive, thanks to assault rifle early on and will climb whatever ladders I feel like & chrome up to awsome levels 13. Adding an extra one point, start new game try again with differnt char skills ect ect..... so much to do

Just to clarify my post.
point 1. It is not dorchester but southe? you need to go to for mcfly, the pharmacy there point 3. I mean you will have to take alot of those 2000yen jobs to earn enough money.
Point 7. I climb los v ladder to second rung. They give you a street duster armor and I give that to clive and pick up a stealth/infiltrator suit from corp land stores. I didnt mention anything about getting runners, early on I do, later, once my skills are high enough, I work alone Point 10. I was saying climb finneians ladder till you get a super taxi driver v chip // i still spelled finneian wrong and the driver is named king

1. Do minor jobs for whoever pays until you can afford head memory. 2. Do Data Courier and Hacking jobs until you can get MT Taser Gloves and a Raptor II. 3. Keep upgrading your armour, computer, and cyberware until you die.

I usually can amass six figures in about 45 minutes upon starting a new android hacker.my problem has never been getting yen,its where to spend it all.oh and making enemies of half the NBZ without ever actually stepping into their turf.
