Ever wonder what the upper limit of heat can be? No? You're probably normal. But for those of us who just have to poke the dark corners of a game, go ahead, raise your heat as far as you dare and hold it there for as long as you dare. My top heat record is 1,112.
There doesn't seem to any additional issues with heat after 100 or so. Guess high heat is high heat. Downside, expect a lot of problems with heat. Plus side, when you do decide to bring your heat down, you can watch it plummet by the hundreds a time with each hotel stay. Which leads to some old crusty knight saying "I've lost more heat in a night than you ever had in your life."
Back to shooting drones.

Cory Trese, what kind of variable is used for the heat? Into, float (unlikely), double or.. ? Because only then we can know I'd it's likely that one finds the max heat... Sent from my rooted Falcon -- I want "Cerberus: By Hatred Born" back!! ASAP.

The hard maximum is 2147483647. If exceeded, heat is set to 0.

They'll be fine" Knights with that much heat pretty much could not have got it by shooting people, even if you just murder everybody you meet. You need to hack to get anywhere near this -- at least I have needed to. Of course, I like using my taser-gloves, whether or not I care about heat because they do so much better a job of killing everything but certain drones ... So I think the story is more like -- 'We have an intruder! Some wretched bastard hacker is trying to steal all of our paydata. Oh, hell, he is succeeding as well. Got this, and that and ... we need to locate the vermin and send an execution squad after him. .... Some weeks later .... It's public enemy #1! Again he tries to steal all of our valuable data! Have we got that kill-squad ready YET! GOOD! EMERGENCY Response! MAXIMUM LETHALITY! GO GET HIM BOYS. A few minutes later, the team springs into action. When, suddenly .... You know, Fred, I don't know why we were called out here in such a rush. We're we supposed to take down some serious mega-shit hacker? Do you detect anything like that around here? Not me, Sam ... I think it was just another drill. Stupid Bastard Bosses, always calling drills. |

well, I find that pretty much any lethal action raises heat real quick, any non-lethal activity is half that fast. Granted, I could use hacking to raise my heat very quickly, but I mean, shooting people is much more fun than looking around for a file.

Is that even possible? Is there enough stuff in the game to raise heat to such a value (or even a value with 6 digits)?

Hacking raises heat? I'll have to look into that. I'm playing through with a unmodified Gunslinger with non-lethal pistols so no implants of any kind and no data port yet. I figure once I max stats a bit I'll start using implants and go explore the matrix but for now the NBZ is big enough by itself---seriously big. It takes a lot of non-lethal shots to raise hit.
