Cory Trese I always wondered how time was calculated in game. By this I mean "What the hell means 'XXX.XXAE' ?". I'd like to understands what the date means ; years ? months ? days ?

fallen I agree with Brutus Aurelius and Jacob ; buying a cage at a breeder to put in a safehouse to keep your little doggy there. But leaving them at breeders seems quite cool too, if you believe you can trust them though.

fallen Ah, Shining Force... the game that made me love S-RPGs and brought me to CK. I'm glad to see that we have the same references. =)

Small-device friendly idea : Long-press on the cargo type name opens a window and a keyboard so that you can enter the exact amount you want. If too big for your cargo hold, notification saying that your cargo space is already full and that only X units were taken on board.

fallen Actually... you're right. Sorry about that, I'm not used enough to ST lore yet. I guess I'm just gonna let my good old fighters get scraped by Xeno Mass Drivers while building Next Gen Ships on my factory worlds then. I'm still discovering the game mechanics at this point.

lazarus If lore invalidates changing a ship's equipment after construction, why would we be able to upgrade it in Star Traders RPG ? =/

This crept out of the lab and is a very broken feature, I am sorry if your team is permanently damaged by hiring him. Well, if there's a werewolf in the NBZ, I'm pretty sure it indeed crept out of some corporate lab, yes.

I've also been a bit disappointed to see that there were no new ships available with my new technologies ; after that, I discovered that I could make my own ship designs, so it's fine, but "standard" ship plans with new technologies in it, like hlo suggested could be interesting. I also wondered why the ships already build could not be upgraded ; for example, if they were in green sectors, I don't see why there would be no way to change its weaponry or reactors during a turn. The ship would be unusable during the upgrade and it would cost some money, quite a lot in fact, but my good old Wolf Cruisers would become more powerful with the time without having to be destroyed and replaced. I tend to take a good care of my ships and I find myself disadvantaged because of it ; I can easily adapt, but I thought it would always be good to suggest something like that here.

Multi-payer support... why not multi-game support too ? I can see the ads already : Star Traders MMO : Play X4 and hire RPG players, or play RPG and get your missions from 4X players. Economy and politics simulation has never been so... NOT simulated.Sounds like a dream, doesn't it ?

Hi jurij, here's a few tips about your questions : 1) A Trese Brothers game is basically NEVER complete ; it always receive new updates, bug corrections and new features, even after several years. But, for the difference between iOS and Android version, iOS is missing a few "unimportant" features (because OS internal mechanism does not let devs do the same thing), some are tweaked another way to be there anyway, and it is often late on updates because, indeed, the App Store is not as updatefriendly as Google Play. 2) Rumors are a way to keep yourself updated about what happens in the Quadrant ; where is it most interesting to deal in a special type of merchandise, what area you should stay way from because of alien activity, where ancient ruins to explore have been recently found, etc. ; they are basically the way you get info about what is interesting to do when you want to play something else than a contract-running character (such as an Explorer or a Merchant), but they are also interesting to check whatever your character is. Buying a rumor instantly give you access to the most important ones ; if you just listen, some are just lore or even random conversations without interest. Buying rumors will always give you the good ones (and if they don't, then there's probably nothing new to you to listen). 3) Syndicates (De Valtos, Rychart, Cadar) and the Great Houses (Thulun, Steel Song and Javat) are more or less on the same side between each other ; if one of them consider you as a criminal, the bounty hunters of their two "natural allies" will also run after you (except if you are very well considered among their own faction, then it is different). The best to do is to pick one side (Syndicate or Great House) and make them your friends. It is also a good idea to have at least one ally in the other group ; it leaves you an escape door if you are in trouble. There is no permanent war ; just subtle alliances and punctual conflicts. Listening to rumors will give you more information about what's happening between the factions. It is criminal to destroy a ship without a Bounty Licence (if you have one, then you can destroy enemies or targets of the faction that gave it to you without being considered as a criminal on their territory), to rob other ships, to blockade planets and to break a trade embargo (that's the most painful ; trade embargoes are a interdiction put by one faction to deal with another. If you buy or sell something to one of the two embargoed factions, then you will lose reputation with the other). "Ignoring" a ship makes you keep going your way ; if the other ship is fine with it or cannot stop you (too fast), it will be all right. If not, then they will try to stop you (and start to fight). "Acknowledging" will make you say "Hi" to them and start communications ; if they have nothing against you, it will just be a friendly conversation between captains. But acknowledging authorities will lead them to search your ship ; if you are shipping illegal goods (electronics, artifacts...) without a trade permit with their faction, they will confiscate it. They will also take smuggling jobs cargo and the people you were sent to escort if you are on an escort job. "Surrender" is for when you are facing an already attacking ship ; you surrender and let them come aboard. If they are authorities, they might confiscate stuff or arrest you, which is bad. If they are pirates (which are ALWAYS attacking right at the start), the same happens but if you have a trade permit with their faction, they will walk away as they are forbidden to rob you (and do not want to attract the intention of the authorities of the faction to which they are selling their stolen goods). abysmal is right ; independents are special. They do not respect trade permits or killing licences, but you can kill them if you want without any reputation loss. Your crew will just loose a bit of morale, since a lot of them are indy themselves, but it will be all.

lazarus When your CK is alone, he can always move to dodge hounds and thugs that comes into melee and keep his distances. With a mark in your team, you have to protect him and he won't move like a trained fighter around the battlefield to escape enemies ; so, a short-range and devastating weapon becomes more useful for this kind of job than for a CK in general (who would certainly prefer a long-range weapon to stay out of trouble). =) Hope it helps.
