#elwoodpsfordictator2809! Do you plan on abdicating the throne my Queen? You're the only ruler I'll except. Don't you mean accept? In context, accept vs except, they're nigh opuesto - opposites.

I don't know HOW y'all play on this difficulty... I'm playing on Brutal, and just died with no chance to save myself in the Nordhall ambush. The first one in the zone. Screw this, I'll stick to having fun and not bothering with even trying NM. There must be some sort of narcissism involved here... That being said, SO MUCH respect for those of you able to pull it off. Like with "Ferocity!" It helps if you chant "DE-FENSE DE-FENSE DE-FENSE!" on the enemies' turn. :-p

I know this thread is rapidly sinking fast, but Cory Trese , I hope that you are able to have an additional variable for captain name alias that simply presents the alias name whenever the "captain name" string is displayed To sink it more "LITTERally and "quickly" <---> I just now figured out why slayernz uses such an ugly hairdo thanks to recent interviews by the bros. Plus noticed his eye movement for the very first time! I'm an oblivious noob!

That's what you get when you have a wabbit follow up on what a cat said ... never trust animals to be armchair coders. Speaking of which I need to upgrade to office chair coding - excuse me... So you think animals can't code? Hah! I'm a fraking digi-sheep! I am code Too bad Sheep number three didn't have crc or better enabled when copied. :-p

I just didn't understand what you mean. All saved game files are self-contained binary trees. I just don't know what a single reference file is, I Googled it and didn't see anything that seemed to match. Have every string in game be a single text file to have code reference like a data base. e.g. 1. Someone says something. 2. Another person talks ... 67. Boss is mean lets get him! etc. All story text is a single text file for easy localization ... especially if ui text is included. In sum: what slayernz was talking about.

Warning: sarcasm detected. Translation in progress ... "I know what I'm doing. WTH are -you- talking about? (not that I care to know - I've got a full plate already). Translation complete: please go about your day, thank you.
Sorry, I don't use words good ... nm then. :-p

Most of the software that I've helped produce has all of the text strings in a single file, and all of the software code just looks up the relevant string. No hard coding of text at all. Mind you, this is because all of the software I worked on needed to be localized into 20+ different languages, and trying to hard-code that is a nightmare. and for the record, I like my captain_alias% variable thingy 1. Maybe making the game texts a single reference file for each game should be the request for all future games then... 2. That's too much like how I think and it doesn't get me very far, maybe you will have more success though...

Simply a matter of scope. With which we need to exercise judgment. Thanks! Wha!!! You guys can't start exercising judgement on scope..! :-p

Oh oh oh - Cory Trese , could you make this possible for ST2 (and other games)? Being able to rename a captain would be really useful and having that as part of your design from the outset is important. (PS sorry for the resurrection of this thread) I guess, but I don't know what type of priority we'll be able to assign that type of feature. We've got a tiny budget and a huge design to accomplish within it. I hope you find space in the budgets because it helps me keep track of my teams better -I always had a hard time learning names quickly and its worse now with my inflamed brain. Limited number of fixed characters like HoS don't want for it imo, so they are fine, but variable squads do please.

ntsheep I think they started that level with their full release from the start with tBF. They went from A to AA game company with that one imo. Bringing in pros for UI and grammar (Sorry guys, but even your interviews have typos. :-p) will bring them further along. After ST2 is a success they'll be handling even more awesome graphics and music which will make them AAA without the downsides. Source: My prediction/expectations.

Personally I'd have done the same. Next I'd nm 2, ssk up to 6 and then BoS to 5. After that good defensive base I'd get 1 point in ferocity, then go juggernaut.
You're more experienced than I though, so whatever you choose is likely equal to superior to my thinking.

That top one is almost software core pornography without even playing it.
