So I notice that as you gain more types of ships, weapontry and planetary upgrades, enemy xenos just keep building the same ships again and again and again. Wouldn't it be cool if they started to make DIFFERENT ships during late-game? Wouldn't it be cool, rather than just slaughtering countless xeno ships with higher quality shios, for xeno species to each have their own xeno "boss" ship, with enhanced HP, offensive and defensive capabilities? Again, such a shio would only appear late-game, and could even only appear on the highest difficulties. They could have improved mass drivers and torpedos or their own special type of weapon, with each AI having a different boss and different special powers. There could also be rewards associated with this highly difficult enemy, such as an immediate cessation of hostility from the other side when destroyed, or credit, RP and morale bonuses.

We are working on more late game Xeno ships, yes. At this point you can definitely get ahead of the enemy ships in technology.

We are working on more late game Xeno ships, yes. At this point you can definitely get ahead of the enemy ships in technology. Sounds good. When I say boss though, I don't mean mass produced ships that replace or suppliment the standard gun and torp ships. I mean a ship that appears much more rarely, and in singles. Kind of like a world killer ship but even more rare. That's what separates a minor enemy from a boss.

Agreed. I'm working through the roadmap. You see bosses in HoS, and you'll eventually see them in ST 4X.
