Torping is fur a bit of thrills, but Gunning is fur consistent kills Yes, firing torps is the "Cadar way", but how many battles have you WON with a torp? I'd probably wager that you'd count your Torp-won battles on the fingers of one hand. Actually, I'd probably go further and suggest that you have not actually WON a battle with only torps as your weapon. You'd have boarded, or you'd have had to use guns. Torps is just a bit of a fireworks show to let your enemy know that you're around. You then go to guns to show you mean business.
Torping is useful for evading ships that just don't get the hint that you don't want to be around, so by all means, keep on launching torps and retreating when you need to, but the FIRE officer should focus on helping you kill your enemy - and that's where guns are so important.
Want a challenge to prove a point? Buy a Cadar shuttle (rank ship) ... it comes with torps and no guns. THEN see how you go. That's the only shuttle in the whole quadrant that I can't win battles with on Crazy difficulty or below.

It's pretty exciting to be able to have input on a game like ST. Join patreon. That said, dust off your torps, cause the long bomb will soon be more viable. Unless someone wants to sign up, and vote the other way. Hahahaha

I can't find the second poll, but I'll cast mine for the Torps as well... Easier to prevent combat than to get away once it starts, IMO, so torps are more important to me.

And I mailed him it as well, on the assumption that Rhode Island didn't just pop a _different_ TB Patreon. Welcome to the club, En1gma

Sweet. I was hoping this new officer would lead to one hitter quitters of the offensive type, not defensive. I think he said both would be buffed. Crap Im interested in this officer.

Yes! <The cat does a lil run around in circles> ... Finally, people get that like cookies, Torps are a sometimes food. You use them from time to time, but they're the long game, whereas Guns, on the other hand are the short game, and in short everyone needs guns!

I feel you all, I do. That's why torps need the boost. Ask Officer Genious.

I think guns need some love I think I need some love, but there's no poll for that, so I'm stuffed, as usual. XD Looks like grävling's earlier intuition, may be coming to the fore, here. I'm almost holding my breath in anticipation.
