So I'm looking at John Robinson's tables again thinking about a new group that will be all melee with all of the purchasable characters. Vincent has some debuffs that can help such a group but it's hard to see him becoming a truly awesome melee fighter with only Storm Strike in his bag-o-tricks. Don't get me wrong, it can be done, it's just not very exciting. So I was thinking, since he's got three ranged AoE attacks and it's hard to see how Elemental Sundering is much different than Lightening Spear, why not change his level 18 spell to some sort of awesome melee attack, possibly an AoE cursing attack or something fun. It's something that would make him considerably more exciting as a melee fighter.

Cool stuff! I've never even thought about using Sundering, it starts off so low compared to other attack talents, and while it might end up hitting more targets, it's not very appealing (at least to me anyway) especially if I already have a vested attack skill at that point... A new melee attack would give me a great reason to play him as such- I can't seem to build him properly as melee for some reason... No fault of yours, of course, but a second attack would make it much easier...

I agree Vincent last talent is too underwhelming especially compared to energy storm. But in fitting in with his heritage as a sedollan seer lord descendant , who were reputedly the best darn magic user upside of steel, I'd go for a more empowered version of aoe spell attack. Something cosmic like a percentage chance to morph enemies into a drunken version of resident city rat Balgair , or a cow . I jest, if only on the morphing part. Your suggestion for aoe cursing attack for storm strike might work though not as another talent but in the later ranks of storm strike itself. Already mechanics for another version of a fleet footed light blade damage dealer like Selen are in place with talents to boost his Mp, critical % . Speaking of which, of characters in need of an epic last melee attack talent overhaul, Selen is the one with a good shout. Currently it's really impractical to use it as half the time in surprise mobs are not within sight ! A simple revision to include increased MP for investing in that talent, say 5mp and more, for first turn should entice people into trying that build to sneak attack on first turn.
