Hi. With BlastGT1, giving us the "Torp Thread", I got to wondering if we could have a thread, based around the old Steve Jackson and Ian Livingston books. I know someone mentioned those books, sometime ago, (sorry, can't remember who it was at present). slayernz. You do quite a lot of competitions on the forum. Do you have any ideas, how we could take a book adventure format, and change it for forum use. Not the ACTUAL original book content. Just say.... 1st poster, posts a quick "room" description, and give a number of Exits, the next poster takes an Exit, but there needs to be a mechanism in place to have a "consequence", on a taken route. I'm not good at this planning stuff. Hurts my brain. (cell). Maybe it should just be like that game, where the next person adds something of their own to the story. It's BOUND to end up completely MAD. Dunno'. Anyone?

The poster of the scenario could present 2 or 3 possibilities for a given choice. A rotation of deciders could determine the result of the adventurer's choice. Or a coin.

Cg - the forum does not allow embedded JavaScript. That is a form of script injection and a hacking technique. Please cease and desist with that activity. I have my Cyber Knight on the line ... ready to dispatch at a moment's notice

Too bad ... Knight dispatched. Sorry chummer ;P XD Actually Fallen. Have you any ideas, for a Widget, that can be embedded or put on the forum, that can be used to simulate, the roll of the die? Something that will leave a permanent score on a posted page, so everyone could see the result. That's what I'm after. I don't think there is a native Char$ function for BBCode, so I could make a thread into a Pseudo RND Generator. PS. Blame the idea for dice on qbspy. He's the one to send the Cyber Knights after. I'm only the Hacker Team Member, he's the Leading CK.

I've invested heavily in stealth. I'd flip a coin in real life, and report the result honestly.

Over complication of things gave us these neat-o computers.
And the Cold War.
And possible colonization of Mars.
And nukes....

On a weird note, I found a pristine half dollar coin from 1976 lying around recently. Now I can flip in style.

Let's try this. To whom it may concern, Cg?, anyone? While I'm in the mood. You awake in your relative's living room on Thanksgiving day. There are at least twelve people milling about. Your phone isn't in your pocket where you always leave it. An incessant urge to use the restroom brought you around. Someone's animal appears to be asleep on your lap. A fork is lying beside you. Should you, A. Stand up hurriedly and seek out the restroom? B. Gently prod the animal on your lap whilst looking around your lap for your phone? C. Call out to a stranger, and ask for a description of what you missed? If you choose A, You have a chance to drop your phone, and break it. You also have a chance to make it to the restroom door. If you choose B, You have a chance to find your phone. You also have a chance to discover a strange wetness on your seat. If you choose C, You have a chance to get the attention of a relative that you don't know. You also have a chance to summon your aunt. Anyways your chance would be a coin flip, and you build on it? I gotta rest soon myself.

qbspy. Errr. Gently prod the animal with the fork? If it turns out to be slayernz. I probably won't EVER WALK AGAIN, let alone to the rest room. I'm choosing A. Maybe YOU should flip the coin? Problem only that you may not be on for a while, so the whole story would be held up. Also.... HEADS == positive outcome? TAILS == Negative outcome? Yep. Typical! I got TAILS and broke the phone. BUT.... That means I don't have any wet patches. So what we need to do now is decide what next? Do I create the next set of options, or am I "out of the loop", because I got a negetive coin flip? What happens if a character dies from a negative result? Do we keep "player death" out of the story? Hmmmm.
