This discounted Sly Look/Farsight is making me realize that I am not winning stealth rolls as often as I thought. Is there an easy way to tell whether you've won stealth? It's obvious if I see monsters moving or attacking that I've lost, but sometimes their action is taking place out of view. I usually look for "evil" showing up in the lower left, but I just had one where I was sure I had stealth but didn't get the AP reduction.

fallingleaf - unless the combat is started by the story, you should be in Stealth if the "Evil" does not get a turn in the bottom left. There is no obvious way in the UI to know you are in surprise at the moment, but we have been planning a few different ways to indicate it.
