This thread is for collecting high level ideas, not long conceptual designs.
Anything that isn't in a bullet list format will be deleted...

- Special Vendors
- Faction changing battle?!?! (perhaps the rumor "starters")
- construction robots going awry!
- special jobs offering
- wounded people who need med kits
- someone in brave star cuffs -- need electronics to get free
- someone who offers you $200 to kill the people following him
- someone else hurt by dome or nano
- CK in trouble - Needs to deliver a package but both his/her legs are broken
- Another CK in trouble - In a fight needs backup
- Emergency Delivery - Implant needs taking to a hospital (rep gain / loss)
- Dead body (or is it....) - Loot / Ambush

¤ A battle between different faction members - allow to chose a side/ignore
¤ An corp official mistake you for someone else - various effects (mission reward/weapon/attack you)
¤ A famous CK challenge you for his own fun
¤ A completly drunk man/woman try to flirt with you... not really in a gentleman way
¤ Some strange crazy old witch try to convince you to eat one of its red apple ? Various and completly random effects...
(Ok, OK, I may need to calm down a bit... =p)

¤ meet a weird man - offers you a special anti-corps mission (after seeing you fight or in spec condition ?)
¤ A man deseperatly needs money - rise the probability of positive encounters for some time
¤ A rich guy offers you to participate in an illegal fight (could grant access to some sort of arena moody & I talked about in the Feature thread ?)

sorry, hope what's coming next isn't too simple :
¤ you notice someone a few meters ahead who seems to be waiting for you
¤ you're bumped into by a passer by - only steps later do you realize some of your ¥ are missing
¤ people all around seems to flee something - investigate/flee
¤ you see a CK hunting for its target - ignore/help CK/help target
¤ a "client" give you a rendez-vous, saying he needs a good CK - mission/ambush
¤ a CK mistakes you for one of its target - defend yrslf/negotiate/evade

*a hacker needs backup(happens near matrix port)
*drones gone mad
*a few ¥ on the floor
*random merchant selling stuff, you dont want to know how he/she got them
*random item on the ground.
*a CK whose is an enemy of your home-corp
Thats all for now,i try to invent more...
EDIT: *you see that guy who stole your drugs last week *suidical bomber running towards you(shoot before its too late! Or negotiate or flee) *you find a shut-down drone that is defenceless *another corp trying to invade the block *you find a dead corpse *you see a Sniper aiming towards someone *you see a manhole that is open,ready to the sever journey? *you see someone trying to break in a building *you see someone trying to rob the store *you see an investigation team investigating(lol investigators investigating) a crime *someone wants drugs from you desperarely *you find lots of dead soldiers and hear something BIG coming towards you *you hear something big closing to you (a tank? An AT-ST? A Narvidian war machine?) *you see a big limousine passing by(someine important inside) *a building on fire and some people trapped inside(help them to gain rep and maybe lose rep if it isnt really an accident)

¤ You notice an infamous criminal among passers by - attack him for bounty/let him go
¤ Some drugged thugs are randomly slaughtering pedestrians - intervene (rep gain?)/evade

Couple of noncombat ideas:
* Lost kids: help them find their home somewhere in the current zone.
* Your highest faction wants help recruiting X(hacker, sword, gunslinger, etc.
* New CK needs a reference for a faction you are good in.
=Combat encounters=
* Thwart a hacker crackdown, or help...
* Track a hacker for a corp or gang.
* A contact betrays you
EDIT: Sorry if the first is a bit too low level, just an idea to be implemented at your disposal and possibly outside the scope of the game.
