So not sure if this should be in the bug area or what but I have a question. When I camp to level up talents, then close the game, when I come back to play my health and sp are full but the points I spent are not used. So I have to recamp to spend the points again. The question I have is, does that lower my score? Because that would be a bummer that I'm wasting points. Hope this makes sense.

How are you closing the game?

Well it happens in many ways lol. Some times I force close. Sometimes I leave my phone for a few minutes and the game goes back to the home screen. And others I just back out. It seems to be the same result everytime

The quickest way to force the game to save is to exit to the main menu.
What device and platform are you on? Android?

My characters had just levelled up. I didn't use the gained points. I pressed "home" button and fired up the "Most Recent Apps" list and wiped out HoS (I do that before an update). I performed a game update through google's app store. I ran the game again and noticed that all my gained stats have been downgraded by 1 point. So all my characters suddenly had 0 or -1 talent points to spend. So, I had to wait to level up again in order to spend some points. Unfortunately, I can't remember if I had camped just before pressing the home button.

xpanta - I would guess that you were at Level 11, and this was an update in which we changed the values for what Attribute, Skill, Talent was for levels 11, 12, 13. We did this twice during an update, and it means that anyone in that level range may have seen negative values. Not a game bug, just a required re-balance.

If I knew that before, I wouldn't have updated! (just joking) :-)

And it really isn't that big of a deal but I'd like not losing points because I'm camping twice but it's only saving my talent points if I play to the next fight/load screen.

xpanta - the re-org was beneficial for the team. By level 18, every character gained an additional Talent point, sooo you wanted that update.

I've noticed the same thing howler described. Spontaneous return to the home screen if I leave HoS in the background for more than a little while. In addition to the issue with skill points and camping, this can also cause you to loose surprise. If you gain surprise, then background the game and it dumps to home screen, when you come back you've lost surprise. You can work around it be engaging in another activity before putting the HoS in the background. So I always try to go away from the campsite after distributing skill points AND play through the first round of surprise before backgrounding or closing the game
As howler said, not a big deal, but not optimal.

Our games register themselves as standard Android applications and respond correctly to all OS requests to close. That does mean that your Android device may close Heroes at any time, and the game will not resist -- it will simply do it's best to save and exit as the OS requires the memory for something else. Surprise is always re-rolled when loading the game.

Cory Trese, thanks I really appreciate the insight into how android works. I've noticed a recent increase in HoS reverting to homescreen, I guess that's due to me recently installing the Facebook and Gmail apps which autonotify, making me more likely to launch other apps when HoS is in the background. I may try to replicate Howler's issue, since I'm not too concerned about score.

tenbsmith - yes, any change in how often HoS reverts to the homescreen is due to the app / memory environment on your phone, and not a change we have made.

I'm not too concerned about score unless it's my ironman teams, then the extra points lost are just annoying lol. I play while I work so I set my phone down a lot so I was just checking to see whY it did that. It's just more annoying having to allocate all the points for the same level multiple times haha. On the flip side though it does help when I accidentally misclick while spending points. Just allows me to reset to points for that level

thehowler - the way to ensure that you state is saved is to return to the main menu. It's a nice thing to do after spending your points at a waystation or inn.
