Just make sure you involve several different types at a time- the last thing you need is a ton of bad reviews because people who haven't bought the alternate characters can't participate in the different events- this could be a great way to pull some players into the new set, but they will need to be eased into it, and not feel like their being either pressured or excluded for not having them...

En1gma - I don't think we would consider running more than one tourney at a time. If the parameters are group composition, then we're going to have to move into pay characters after the first.

A couple more ideas for you fallen How about Heavy Metal: You have to run Vraes and Fyona and of course the opposite Smooth Jazz : Cannot use Vraes and/or Fyona; only light armor and stealth characters allowed.

Actually that is a really great idea. I'll be honest and say that the leaderboards don't really attract all that much attention from me but if you were to do the things you mentioned I would definitely be much more likely to check them regularly and actually care about my ranking. A few thoughts.. 1) I personally like the idea of a little "ad" on the main menu letting players know about the tournament as well as providing a link to more info (maybe a post in these very forums? Could really boost activity!). However, gotta make sure that it is not obtrusive. As En1gma pointed out, you don't want people feeling that they are getting left out for any reason. You will definitely have to use alternative characters and the like, but if you make the tournament notice too pushy people will complain about them. Something like a little news box announcing the start of/end of a tourney would be good. 2) Try not to make them too complicated or focused on any particular difficulty level. The more open they are, the better. I'd recommend a simple concept (like your classic 4 idea) split into a couple classes (like platinum = nm, gold = hard, etc). Maybe even consider making them limited in scope, for instance until the end of chapter 1, to make people feel like they aren't destined to lose to people who can push through the entire game in 1 month. 3)If possible, tour idea of having a visual "this group is eligible" sign is really necessary. It will draw in more players who don't know about our forum and also get people more interested. Just my 2 cents!
