Continued from here When starting the Bounty hunter captain on Impossible for 20th time I really wished that: 1) New game dialog remembers my last choice 2) I can choose my first officer (maybe a lvl50 retirement award on Crazy+ difficulty?) 3) There is a possibility to switch off tutorial and first contract completely 4) There are always contracts on the first planet in the beginning, especially on Impossible

1) New game dialog remembers my last choice This is not a bad request - but captain name should still be blank What would be really cool on top of this though is having some additional detail about each starting ship so you don't have to try and remember which ship has what specs. That might make the starting screen too long though. I agree. 2) I can choose my first officer (maybe a lvl50 retirement award?) A starting first officer, or a first officer of your own choosing down the track? For the former, you can't really start with anyone other than old Turdlip because the game has the same story line for each start (and same start date for that matter). Your father is on his deathbed and tells you that he wasn't always a farmer with a penchant for gambling, but rather, he was one of the elite, a space ship owner, furthermore, the ship was carefully hidden in caves just to the west. It can be yours if you deliver a critical message to the local prince. (I think it was something to do with exactly what he could do with his latest land-tax increases). With that, your father passed away, and over the following weeks you started to think less that your father was delusional and more that there might be a grain of truth to the story. So one sunny day you and your father's best friend, ole Turdlip went off to find the ship. After almost giving up multiple times, you found her! The ship your father spoke about. She was old, had a paisly paint job, and had a tape deck as the central part of the music system, but was otherwise in remarkably good condition. Then ole Turdlip dropped a bombshell. He was actually your father's first mate and was willing to take to the skies with you at the helm. You gain his significant wisdom and he gets to revisit his past. So there is where you take up the story. You're on your way to the local palace to deliver your father's last messages (which coincide with the end to all galactic peace and tranquility), with ole Turdlip as your First Mate. You can't start the game without him ... but you can push him out the airlock at the first opportunity and hire someone hotter, younger, and ... well female. 3) There is a possibility to switch off tutorial and first contract completely It would be nice to turn the tutorials off as an option in the .. errr options menu. you can't turn off the first contract though (see #2 response). I mean the officer you start with. I know a bit about the story, but I do not see it in-game, just read about it in the forum. I think it is still kind of tutorial which should help you get started on contracts and I hate doing it one hundred times and starting with officer which is in my option meant for beginners mainly. I would prefer to start on first planet after message delivered. 4) There are always contracts on the first planet in the beginning, especially on Impossible Stop starting as Thulun ... most other factions have some contracts available on the first planet. Only those Thulun dogs seem to have a dearth of contracts. I'm guessing that they are either too cheap to pay people to do their dirty work, too stupid to understand that they CAN pay people to do their dirty work, or are too hoity toity and just expect people to do their dirty work for them because they are Noble. Steel songs are the same. Damn them, greedy bastards! But I hate to end my captain’s career in a few first turns because first three planets I visit have no contracts at all. Just saying, cannot complain playing Impossible .

1) Only effects a tiny % of the players, takes a long time to code.
2) The first mate has bonuses that most players need in early game.
3) We are adding a major division between Story Mode / Sandbox Mode in Future Games
4) That's the game engine, it already has plenty of that type of coding just none on Impossible. If you want your hand held, play Normal =)
