Again - it points out just how cleverly balanced the TB's have made the characters. There is a fine line separating the two, with different playing styles and party selections ultimately influencing the pick. Fyona is awesome as an off-tank, with a very mean thumping stick to boot. She is equally as effective with a 2AP mace than a 3AP mace. It provides that additional flexibility. Fyona can also sport heavy armor, which is just awesome if she is being used for target practice. Her group healing ability is actually very useful if you aren't just using Vraes as a primary tank. So often you find that your small party is swarmed by lots of annoying enemies, and inevitably your characters take hits. Either you waste an AP per player to heal, you use one of those group-health things that tend to more tease with the promise of health, rather than actual health itself ... or you have Fyona boosting the party up in a meaningful way.
Now Kyera is very squishy. Not quite as squishy as ole Shifty Eyes or even Tami, but squishy in her own right. But Oh Can She Dish Out Ranged Damage. She can curse like a sailor, do ranged attacks up to 6 squares away, and can be used as a fuel tank of spirit during those extended battles. My first party went through two acts without a single potion because of Kyera. She healed and she spirited and the party was able to go on like an energizer bunny.
Both are good. No, both are awesome. One would say another tricky pick would be KJ vs Vince. 6-range attacks are very useful, but early-stage area attacks are equally so. Decisions decisions.
