Right, bit of an odd thing going on atm for me. I can't be sure if this is intentional but I seem to be being paid for each step of a courier job. For example:
I get a courier job from Miss Grim. Initial payout is 110, I negotiate and it raises to 160. (Slight problem with the negotiate button, as it does not disappear once you negotiate).
I accept the new payout of 160, then set about collecting the package. (sometimes I'm paid a random amount just for accepting the job to begin with).
I arrive at the pick up location and collect the package. Suddenly my available funds jumps 160 just from collecting the package. Odd, but I still carry on.
Several skirmishes with the Streets boys and I'm back in Finnean territory. Outside of the church I deliver the package. Once again my funds jumps, this time by 97.
So in total I've been paid 160 + 97 = 257! for a job that I was told would only pay 160. Not that I'm complaining, but it was a bit odd. It's not the first time I've had this happen today, but it is the 1st time that I've actually recorded the amounts I was paid.

Here's hoping that it gets patched soon. As it's more than a little imbalanced.

Good points guys. I guess the pick up job shouldn't pay.
Design fail. Let me patch something =)

Every need to patch to XP part of it. Since it makes courier jobs more preferable over all others.

if it is two locations, not having a benefit to doing courier jobs make them extremely undesirable next to standard delivery jobs

@ moody
At first I agree with you, but i did some thinking about it and I will agree with k0rd.
The Courier jobs should at least pay more since they are twice as long as a safe passage or one way delivery job. Or, maybe we need something a little different for the XP awarded. Maybe a graded system based on the complexity or duration of the job.
This should be in another thread. which one?

nails yeah after a bit of a rethink it's understandable. I just don't like the fact that I could just keep repeating courier jobs for x2 XP. Maybe if the XP / rewards scaled it would balance out a little more.

Part of this will be addressed with Cool down on the Jobs.
Another issue is the XP vs. Rep vs. Money balance.
Needs more work. I remember the early days of ST RPG Contracts fondly hehehehe

I dont see a problem with PUD jobs being worth 2 XP. You do have to travel twice as far and are subject to twice the encounters as any one way job. Maybe the better solution is things like assasinate/capture need to be worth more. Whatever happened to the idea of making the number of enemies faced have a bearing on the xp? That could up the XP for assasinate/capture while leaving the base numbers for the other jobs the same.

The item is on the list. We are implementing in a priority queue so not everything is getting done at once. If we held back releases to include more features, it would mean less updates and less immediate feedback. Our choice is to release early, release often and gather rapid feedback from the players via e-mail, comments and the forum. That does mean that sometimes features are requested, logged into the list and not completed immediately. So fear not, nothing "happened" to it -- it is safely on the list.
