How are the new factions stack up against the existing?

I am loving Alta Mesa. i just had a fist pump moment with them playing on Crazy in the garden. Was being attacked by a world killer, repelled the attack for 3 turns then popped out an assault fighter and brought in a Templar to squash it. I can't wait until I can get a world set up to pop out battleships like US WWII ship yards

I started a new game with the new factions as well, though the fog of war bug still makes me feel like a cheater. None the less, I like having some ship-factories around to Zerg the Xenos (I never thought I would say that. o.o) to death, and having some trade-junkies means I don't have to choose between trade centers and military-industrial complexes ever again! It's like a dictator's wet dream come to videogame life!!

Trust me... I have a world with 14 pop pumping out carriers every turn and another with 12 pop pumping out fighters every turn. And my EP is finally at 40 a turn.
